Another simple example of Seller Support's stupidity

Do these guys not even know what “before” and “after” mean? :man_facepalming:

I swear I want to create a website
“The clueless seller support reps of Amazon”

We all know basic math skills are not Amazon’s strong point.

Maybe I’m just not with it today, but I don’t see a problem with what they stated, unless there is something factually incorrect about the dates stated.

It took a few tries to get it down to where it needed to be …

The invoice date of Aug 6, 2024 is after the shipping date of July 8, 2024.

Must be a Monday thing, I don’t see it either

Sorry, I failed to mention that both the shipment and the invoice are from July - the rep incorrectly stated that the invoice was dated August 6th, instead of July 6th.

Now I’m the one looking stupid… Monday shenanigans

Which gets back to …

Isn’t that what the message says?

Ahh, okay. NOW it makes sense.

Mondays are obviously contagious.

(reminds me of a time many years ago when I accused someone of a “grammer” mistake, in the days before built in spell check).

You know what though? What’s the Fn’ difference? What if you had 60 day terms with your supplier / manufacturer? The date could be after the shipment.

Amazon would certainly never understand that though so why did I even bring up reality??? :man_facepalming:

Dang right. Actually, it is not uncommon for manufacturers to issue invoices after we’ve received and shipped the merchandise to Amazon. I’ve had to tell one of them to invoice us first and then ship out the product to avoid the invoice-issued-after-shipment bs :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Isn’t the invoice still issued on the order date? I’ve always been issued invoices when I place the order even if there are terms involved.

Generally yes, but not always.

In manufacturing - with lead times - invoice is issued when shipped, which could be months down the road.

Right, but that shouldn’t be an issue, as you will ship to Amazon after they ship you the product. I can’t think of any situation where you’d receive the product and not the invoice in normal business practices.

I can because it happens all the time over here.

Invoices are normally issued after shipment, not upon order placement. In addition, as Steve mentioned, they sometimes aren’t generated until several days after shipment from manufacturer due to several possible reasons, which could very well be after product is shipped from the dealer to Amazon.
