Another Spam Phishing Email to Avoid

We received this today in 2 email accounts … Amazon account email and a catch all email (nothing should go to this one ever and not related to Amazon period).

Your competitor just showed up on Amazon Rufus. You didn’t

Dear [xxxx],

Amazon just killed Rufus and launched Alexa (a personalised shopping agent for buyers)!

And you need to do this experiment:

Open Amazon, then Alexa (blue icon in the bottom-right of the mobile app and Alexa for shopping button on the top left of the website).

Type: “best [your product category] for [your ideal customer]”

Watch what Rufus recommends. Is your brand there? Or is it a competitor?

If it’s the latter, that’s not an accident. That brand has either gotten lucky with their content structure, or they’ve started optimising for Alexa/Rufus intentionally.

Either way, every time a buyer asks Rufus a question in your category and your brand doesn’t appear, you’ve lost a sale you never knew was up for grabs.

We audit Amazon brands for exactly this gap, and for a limited time, we’re offering it free. First 100 brands get a Rufus Audit at no cost. We’ll show you:

  • Whether your brand appears in Rufus responses for key buyer queries
  • What your competitors are doing that you’re not
  • The exact content and listing changes that move the needle

P.S. We’ve run this audit for brands doing $500K/year and brands doing $20M/year. The gaps we find are almost always the same and almost always fixable.

They even sent this to us. We sell only books. No control over the listings, no ability to run ads, etc.
I didn’t even read it far enough to realize that it was outside spam, and not Amazon generated spam.
