Anyone else get this email? I'll believe it when it happens.

Hello,

Today, I want to share an important update on how we support you in Seller Central that’s designed to help you resolve issues faster. The Get help and resources page is becoming Seller Assistant, our AI-powered assistant for sellers.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • We fix issues on the spot. Seller Assistant uses your account details and the information you provide to resolve common issues right away. In beta, many of these issues were resolved in seconds instead of requiring a support case.
  • When you need a person, you get a person. Seller Assistant collects the details up front, assembles your case, and hands it off to an associate who already knows what’s going on, so you don’t have to start over.

We’re rolling this out over the next two months, starting with US sellers who have English as their preferred language. Although early results are promising, we know it won’t be perfect at the start, and we want to get it right. As we roll this out, my team and I will be listening closely to your feedback and making improvements along the way. If something isn’t working, we’ll fix it.

You can find more details on these help pages: Seller Assistant: Seller Central’s agentic assistant and Use Seller Assistant for support resolution.

This ain’t happening. “We fix issues on the spot”. Who’s pipe dream is that?

Those of us who have had the pleasure know that this process is 30 to 45 minutes long and does nothing more than create a ticket.

… quick … somebody please pick me up off of the floor … LMAO

With all due respect where it’s actually due (certainly not to Jenna Owens); emphasis mine:

I won’t ever leave
You want me to stay
Nothin’ you could do
That could turn me away

Hangin’ on anyway
Believin’ the things you say
Being a fool

“You’ve taken my life
So take my soul”
That’s what you said
And I believed it all

“I wanna be with you
Long as you want me to
But don’t move away”

Ain’t that what you said?
Ain’t that what you said?
Ain’t that what you said?

Liar
Liar, liar

We have seen no night
We have seen no day
If I ever leave
But you want me to stay

“You can believe in me
I won’t be leavin’
I won’t let you go”

Ain’t that what you said?
Ain’t that what you said?
Ain’t that what you said?

Liar
Liar, liar
Liar
Liar, liar

“You’ve taken my life
So take my soul”
That’s what you said
But who are we to know?

“I wanna be with you
Long as you want me to
But don’t move away”

Ain’t that what you said?
Ain’t that what you said?
Ain’t that what you said?

Methinks I smell The Spheres (link, SAS)

Which I can do in 30-45 seconds. Yeah, it’s moronic. If I have an issue I can’t solve, I need a person, not a prefab decision tree.

No can do. That’s the support rep’s job. Just open a ticket… or ask the AI rep?!

Yes I got the email, looked like typical spam email from the frogs at seller support systems. Warning, do not kiss the frogs they will not turn into the prince or princess that you need to help you.

I deleted it after a quick scan, anytime they tell me they are going to help I know I am in trouble. I am tired of bending over, and lost my soap on a rope the last time they came up with a great idea.

We are now getting warnings that our shipments are late. Well yes that may be true, since you demand we hold them until the ship date. If not we shall be penalized! This when we use Amazon Shipping 100% of the time and it is always “Claims Protected” without exception.

Yes my Lord Amazon, Hebrews 12:7 - God Disciplines His Sons, I understand.

And to the "Support Amazonions on the NSFE, Please stop saying “Thank you for your question! We understand the confusion around how the… (or) Thank you for reaching out. We understand your concern regarding this issue… (or) I understand how important this is to you…”

You the captured subjects supporting sellers in the NSFE forums, do NOT know these things. For you do not rely on sales to provide shelter and food for yourself and your team members. You don’t understand, you get a paycheck every week on time. You do not live and die by the sword.

Other than that it is a glorious day, the sun is rising over yon hill the sky has turned from a dark infinity through reds and oranges (Canada Fires) to a bright blue. It is a beautiful brand new day!

Got it
Amazon never fixes the issue, they tell you how to allegedly fix it but it doesn’t work so they tell you another way etc. etc.

I used the current assistant to ask the question what would be an appropriate variation theme for 2 ASINs that were previously using a deprecated variation “STYLE_NAME”.

The answer. Two recommendations both of which have been deprecated:

Recommended Variation Type:

For these two ASINs, PATTERN or STYLE_NAME would be more appropriate variation types than METAL_TYPE, since:

  1. Both rings are made of the same metal (Sterling Silver)
  2. The distinguishing feature is the xxxx design pattern (xxxx)
  3. They’re otherwise identical in material, size, color, and price

If you want to group these as variations, you should use STYLE_NAME as the variation theme, which allows you to differentiate based on the design pattern while keeping them in the same product family.

At least they admit that they suck when they first roll things out. Refreshing.

Yet another way to see this is that Amazon is always rolling something out … therefore one could conclude that Amazon is always in a constant state of suck.

Might we point out what happens when you are not perfect at the start?

I used it yesterday because parent/child variants had been changed into different item_type_keywords. I asked what was the best one for the product & product type, it told me an item type keyword that doesn’t exist. When I responded that it doesn’t exist it basically said “my bad, I should have checked first if that was an option.”

I am delighted to report that it can be asked for a “human”, and at least get you to the point where you are wasting time with a useless human, rather than wasting your time with a useless machine

Like Wrigley’s Gum … double your fun!
