Anyone else getting 45 + day invoice orders.

So a certain District Court agreed.

Eventually.

Not odd when you are in Massachusetts. If you donā€™t and it is caught in a sales tax audit, you owe penalties.

Classic accrual accounting.

The revenue is also subject to state corporate income tax, even if you have not had constructive receipt.

Yes it seems you will be required to pay for delinquent payers until you prove otherwise. ā€œAs a vendor, you must pay tax on all sales even if you didnā€™t receive payment at the time of sale. You can only claim reimbursement for tax remitted on bad debts on an annual basis by filing a Claim for Bad Debt Reimbursement (Form ST-BDR).ā€

Does Amazon take care of it?

Only in regards to collecting the tax & forwarding it on to Massachusettsā€™ Department of Revenue.

As is true of many another state since the Wayfair decision altered the landscape from the Quill precedent, an implementation of Marketplace Facilitator legislation has not necessarily meant that one does not have to file.

Sad it is that - more than 5 years after the South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. decision was handed down by SCOTUS - that some states not only have yet to deploy a pain-free path for a continuation to contribute to their coffers (in terms of tax filings), but also continue to seek methodologies for making their periodic ā€˜fishingā€™ expeditions.

Can I play too!

I donā€™t look, mostlyā€¦ no completely because I can not do anything about it.

Realtime the worst one right now is 60 days from the order until payment release date. All so Amazon could get a $35.95 sale, make $9.01 off our back (to spend at the company store) and we get $25.94.

Of that, our CoGS and burdened fixed costs net us a $20 bill. While I donā€™t mind that when I am told that it is net30 and it is net 60+ with no transparencyā€¦

The terms they offer the customer should be part of the table.

Better than the ā€œnet when you feel like it.ā€ We offered when starting the company, it was a thing at the time.

Hey @Thelunatick is the chart in your post only for FBA? I am FBM, and cannot find such a chart. I have sold to ā€œBusiness Customersā€ before but the payment was always in my list at payout every two weeks. Today in my list, one orderā€™s payment is missing. It is to a ā€œBusiness Customer.ā€ So maybe this is just the first time Iā€™ve had one that has similar terms?? And if so, where could I find the info as you have posted?

Thanks!!

@booknut7

We donā€™t do FBA, Too many returns killed our profit.

Go under payments and click on Deferred Transactions and Total Balance

Thanks Lunatick. Nothing there, so I had to open a case. I now expect the usual delays and robo replies to not answer the question. On the plus side, I could easily tell where the little car in the bot detector puzzle would end up

Still hearing the Jeopardy music as I wait to find my missing payment listed anywhere. The case was transferred, I waited a few days, asked about updates. Got a reply today explaining what Deferred Payments were. Since I stated that there was nothing on that page (thanks again Lunatick!) I thought they might realize that I already knew that. I can dream canā€™t I?
Good thing the bot detector car puzzle was explained to me, todayā€™s was another confusing one. But I is smart, figgered it out good.

Well the wife may be smarter but this man is taller and she still has to come to me to get those things that are not on the bottom shelf ā€¦

We have several customers off-platform who are Net 365  (B2B is the world our business lives in.)

I do like that the Amz payment release dates are transparent, but donā€™t get me started on the mystery of reserve. The lack of reserve transparency is :exploding_head: .

I always liked Net Never   Less 10%

I resemble that remark!

But there are step stools available, so man better watch his step!

This was my issue, my deferred payments showed nothing, not the sale, no date. But today (after two cases and four notes back and forth) they issued the payment, so I guess it was net 13 days :upside_down_face:

In the interest of the downtrodden male everywhere, I can help with that:

I hadnā€™t considered elevation tactics - mayhaps I need to bring some armor-clad athletic supporters to marketā€¦ :money_mouth_face:

Then there is that moment when one realizes that the wife is still shorter than you even when she is on the step stool ā€¦ {{{ true story }}} ā€¦

With that being said, she is an expert at knocking things down with the end of a broom ā€¦

Not being tall, I have become proficient with wielding my stick as well! At least I never hit my head!
