AtoZ claim on return shipped but not delivered - winnable?

A buyer shipped a return back UPS, but UPS says the package was damaged and the item is lost. Buyer filed and auto-won an AtoZ.

Does anyone have any history of success appealing claims like this? I haven’t had many of these, maybe 1 per year at the most, and I can’t remember winning any of them. If the buyer doesn’t the shipment, the seller is responsible, but if the seller doesn’t get the shipment… the seller is responsible? :rage:

If it was a auto return generated return label thru Amazon, you should win but we know how that goes. Otherwise, the below was posted in the NSFE and it should be an alternative viable route to recoup your loss. Good luck.

It was an auto-approved return request, the label was Amazon generated.

UPS will talk to me about a lost item from an Amazon purchased label shipped by a random customer?

That’s what KJ_Amazon says. My question to you is on an auto return label, do you have access to the tracking number? I’m in handmade category so we provide all out return labels manually.

I do have the UPS tracking number, which is how I know UPS lost the item in the first place.

I appealed the AtoZ with the tracking information and pointed out that it was never delivered. I couldn’t think what else to include that would be relevant. If I lose the appeal, I will try the UPS number but I can’t see that going anywhere.

The screenshot you posted doesn’t mention what the case is that the OP is asking about so I have no idea how relevant it is to this case, and I’m even less confident that opening a Seller Support case about it would matter since my case has already been through AtoZ, but I guess it can’t hurt to try.

Amazon already responded to my appeal. They kept the money but reversed the metrics hit.

$157 item. Not enough to hurt me but enough to piss me off.
