Automatic Enrollment in Remote Fulfillment...to Brazil

I anticipated a possible 404 page error with the link I posted, but hopefully your revised link will help other affected FBA sellers find the article.

I think affected FBA sellers can use either link. Again, thank you so much for bringing this to everyone’s attention @ickynicks

I should’ve included this quote of your post in Post # 20 to this thread, but I forgot; the second ½ of that post should go a fair way towards answering your question:

Seems I got a different page than you did.

I also seem to have Brazil added to my account, but its in vacation mode, has no bank account linked and has an expired card linked to it for payments. I’ve had Brazil linked without my consent for years now and I’m hoping my using Amazon’s tried and true method of doing nothing will work in my favor this time.

Yes, that’s the expected behavior if an SoA Account is enrolled in FBA, but not enrolled in Remote Fulfillment (that’s exactly what we ourselves see).

Sorry, but what is SoA?

Wade, no…you’ve been here less than a day, don’t give in yet, you can do this! Hold strong!

Reminder that this is coming up on it’s final institution date

Complete this task between 03/12/2024 and 04/11/2024 to avoid automatic enrollment.

Double check your page, and watch out, for enrollments - Remote Fulfillment with FBA - Marketplace Enrollment tab

Will it appear on FBM only seller accounts or just those who sell FBA?

One would presume that only those SoA Accounts which have opted into FBA Enrollment would be subject to auto-enrollment to the Remote Fulfillment Program, but…

This is Amazon we’re speaking of, so literally anything is possible.

First, I hate auto enrollment.

As for remote fulfillment, I think it depends entirely on what you sell. Since Amazon handles everything, all you have to do it let it happen. As far as the seller is concerned, it’s all just more FBA.

The issue is if your products are problematic in other marketplaces. I assume doilies are pretty much OK everywhere.

The taxes and everything are handled by Amazon?

Handled by Amazon, paid by the buyer. Taxes, duties, and shipping.

We routinely get orders where the buyer pays way more for shipping then the item’s price.

What we sell isn’t available in their country which is why remote fulfillment works in our favor.

Sadly, it only works in Australia, Canada, and the UAE for us.

Those are the only markets that work for our primary sub-cat.

If you’re selling something that is widely available all over the globe, the chances of getting a sale are limited.

Yes, it’s more or less just another FBA sale to you. The big difference and this is important is that the goods are listed and sold in that countries currency. Then, when you are paid, you are paid in that countries currency. Amazon then exchanges that currency for USD in your payout and you will lose money on that exchange.

You can set your own pricing in the remote fulfill markets but then it won’t adjust for the exchange rate changes. There is an option to have remote fulfillment automatically adjust your pricing to account for exchange rate, fee’s, ect so that you more or less end up with the same payout per unit that you would if it was a domestic sale. It doesn’t work exactly like that, but pretty close. You can also add an additional % or flat fee to remote fulfillment sales as well to cover the loss on the exchange rate payout.

Good Luck,

TJB

If the product is not allowed to be sold in that country, would Amazon just not sell it?

What about returns?
