AWA outage affecting eBay historical sales data?

eBay sellers BEWARE!! I thought that eBay was functioning fine today but… today happened to be the day for my monthly Seller Rating evaluation. This morning everything looked fine and the dashboard still said “if evaluated today you will receive TOP RATED SELLER” (which I already had). However, the evaluation just ran and it demoted me to ABOVE AVERAGE SELLER. Turns out almost all of my transaction data has been wiped out - it shows that I only made 14 transactions for the whole year!! I have positioned my listings and account to take best advantage of this status and don’t want to lose it, especially at this time of year.
I have never actually had to report a problem to eBay, and I’m wondering if anyone can advise the best method for getting something like this fixed quickly! Thank you in advance for any advise or tips you can share.

@Gamis_books I’m going to pull out your post into its own thread, for visibility.

I haven’t checked my seller rating but I have sales history back to July (at least via the app)

I have a minor discrepancy in number of transactions, not a wholesale loss like yours.

It is disturbing because the past month has been my largest number of transaction in years. In spite of this sales surge, I am 0.01% closer to a downgrade to Above Average.

I strongly doubt there is a way to get things fixed before next month. Seller level calculation is automated, and others have reported they were told they could not be overridden for any issues in the past.

MYSTERY SOLVED! As it turns out, my transaction data seems to be intact. The Seller Level dashboard is something I hadn’t even tracked until recently when I first achieved Top Seller status; I then pinned the dashboard tab in Firefox and checked it periodically - it had consistently shown the data I expected, including up until yesterday just before my seller evaluation. As I indicated in my post, after the evaluation the data had changed dramatically along with my status. What I had never noticed was that there are separate views of the dashboard (and status evaluation) depending on Region. My pinned tab had apparently been set to see the US Region - when I checked it after the evaluation the tab had somehow been changed to view Global Region data, so it was only including my international sales. I don’t know how this could have happened since I wasn’t even aware that there WERE separate evaluations and views per region. The only thing I can think of is that I fat-fingered a link or button that changed the view without realizing it or seeing it as such.

It’s kind of hard for me to swallow such an oversight and error like this, as I have always been pretty tech savvy (degree in computer science + grad school), but the reality is that I am getting OLD, with things like focus and dexterity starting to slip… my sincere apologies for setting off an unnecessary alarm! :face_with_peeking_eye:

We all mess up from time to time, even well-trained savvy experts. What’s most important is that (a) you got it figured out! AND (b) shared it with the community. Somebody else will one day wake to funny data on the dashboard and will not panic before double-checking the toggle, thanks to you! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
