[Bloomberg] Hundreds of China Merchants Join Protest Against Temu Fines

Their complaints center on PDD’s practice of withholding payments to merchants who’re judged to have fallen short on customer expectations, the people said. That includes anything from missing delivery deadlines to mis-matched product listings.

So the sellers are complaining because Alibaba lets them get away with things like that, and Temu is holding an “Amazon” line.

Good article.

Has anyone here purchased anything from Temu? What was your experience?

given my experience with direct to customer Chinese goods from amazon, I won’t touch Temu with a 10 meter cattleprod

If you dont mind waiting 2 - 4 weeks to receive something so you can save a few bucks, then Temu’s an A, otherwise for most people it’s an F.

If I’m buying something it’s because I need it. If I can wait 4 weeks to get it then I don’t need it.

About 2 years ago I tested them out and I purchased a baseball cap and a pair of Lenovo bluetooth earbuds for about $11 total (free shipping). Took about 10 days to receive. I still use both. Would not use them again just because I don’t want to support CN more than I already do.

There is a lot to unpack in that article. It almost sounds like Temu is treating Chinese Sellers like Amazon treats US Sellers…and those used to leniency from Amazon are not happy with Temu. :eyes:
