FOUR of these showed up under FIX YOUR PRODUCTS DASHBOARD/SEARCH SUPPRESSED/INVALID INFORMATION this morning-but the search hasn’t been suppressed!! The titles are still being offered for sale! Same as the Duplicate listings- which we’ve been trying to be rid ourselves of for 3 years, after answering their question innumerable times.
Perhaps my mind isn’t agile in the early mornings- what the heck do TPTB want us to do? We’ve had the same person completing our listings for over a decade(pitches/images/anything other than CONDITION NOTES which I labor over) We don’t do Java Script or any type of code.
Remove any non-compliant mark-up from attribute [item_description] to ensure your data meets with Amazon’s guidelines: Don’t use HTML, JavaScript, or other types of code in your product detail pages.
You are not authorized to fix this issue. A contribution from the brand owner or an authorized reseller is required to resolve this issue and activate the ASIN. If you are the brand owner or an authorized reseller for this brand, please apply for the appropriate role for this brand in Amazon Brand Registry.
Several of the four, hardback Collectible and paperback of the same title, reflect [media_excerpt] in place of [item_description]. We don’t have control of the product pages-all old listings.
Anyone else have this suddenly appear? What do we do?
I haven’t seen this specific issue, but any time I have seen " You are not authorized to fix this issue" I have had no luck in getting anything resolved. As far as I know, this is the Kiss Of Death for a listing.
On the other hand, your listings are still active so… shrug?
Might be a ChristmasGlitch? Because TPTB want to wring every dollar pre-holiday, they haven’t removed it. The same thing for the duplicates-never been taken down. I think one of them finally sold.
Also doesn’t show up our metrics or Performance Notifications.
Maybe they’ll disappear in the New Year! The last time a couple of titles were suppressed in Oct- due to content though innocuous books. The BOTS musta had their tails in a wad since the volumes were eventually released a week or so later.
These ‘fix your listings’ demands when you can’t because you don’t own the brand are quite annoying. They seem to want all brands to be registered. I think they want to transition to an online department store instead of a marketplace.
I believe suppressed from search means the item is not presented to the buyer in search results but the page stays active.
I also got this warning for one of my listings. Reason was that “‘[department]’ is required but not supplied” - go figure. I troubleshot with SS and they suggested adding one of the typical values, “unisex-adult”. I agreed and they sent the info to the Catalog team to update, and I’m now waiting for a response.
This is an odd one - I think I’ve only gotten one or two similar instances before.
@TEXASEXILEBOOKS I think that for now you do nothing. It seems like they want the account with pdp control to add reviews or a blurb or whatever satifies “media_excerpt”. If the listings are active–which for something like “missing unimportant pdp content” seems likely, despite the boilerplate STRAIGHT TO JAIL! alert message–then just roll along until they aren’t anymore. At that point, perhaps open a case.
