Hello, our estimated capacity limit for October has been drastically reduced.
While writing this, it was only 684 cubic feet, but before posting, I hopelessly refreshed the Capacity Monitor page (for the tenth time today), and thankfully it was updated and increased a bit, while the September limits were confirmed and slightly reduced. (and finally, November came in)
Given that the September Capacity Limit is 3,300 cubic feet, and we need roughly 2,400 cubic feet to cover our projected sales for September and Q4 (plus, to maintain the 28day threshold), I’m considering shipping all 2,400 cubic feet before September 30th, so that all necessary units will already be in Amazon before the October limit drops.
Now that the overage fee will no longer be charged I wonder if this approach will work or if there’s a risk that the shipments could be refused? or any other cons
Could you also confirm if the Shipment Creation Date is the critical factor here? For example, if we create a shipping plan on September 27th and it’s picked up on October 3rd, will the inventory still count against the September limit?
(we don’t mean to play with fire, but we might get close to the deadline with a portion of our inventory, as we prefer to spread out the shipments throughout September rather than sending everything all at once).
I am aware of Capacity Manager, but I see it only as a last resort… especially since I haven’t used it before. I need to study it.
I haven’t yet computed the impact on storage fees, and I’m aware that the IPI might be affected… my main concern right now is to confirm whether there are any issues with shipping the entire inventory.
Thank you!
