Can we send FBA products in bubble mailers?

I want to send my stuff in bubble mailers for extra protection. It’s easier than bubble wrap. Can I do that? I would put the ASIN on the outside.

I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who successfully does this.

Hi @Amazon_Seller, I don’t sell FBA, but what I immediately thought about was whether a bubble mailer would count as a “bag” for FBA purposes.

I found these two help pages–but don’t get too excited lol:

And FWIW, I often receive FBA products in bubble envelopes like this.

Thanks, but I was thinking more of mailers (opaque) like Amazon.com : Fuxury Bubble Mailers 4x8 Inch Light Pink 200 Pack Padded Envelopes Usable Size 4x7" Thick Mailing Envelopes Bubble Opaque Padded Mailers Shipping Bags for Mailing Jewelry Makeup Small Business#000 : Office Products

Yeah, those are basically what I use to ship out orders.

If you put a logo sticker on it, isn’t that basically just product packaging at that point? The same as a bag or box?

:woman_facepalming: I am really no help to you!

I found this:

Bagging requirements

Looks like I’ll be okay to use the poly mailer if I put the FNSKU on the outside?

I have received FBA product in opaque bubble mailers provided by the seller as packaging.

Amazon has not always repacked them in Amazon packaging. They have just slapped a shipping label on them. Which is not any different from what they sometimes do with transparent, non-padded plastic bags.

Do not assume that you are providing extra protection.

The alternative is transparent, non-padded plastic bags, which have been fine, but I have one that mars more easily than others, so the padding is needed.

I don’t see why not. I have FBA items packaged in plastic (opaque) or white paper envelope with FNSKU labels taped on the outside of the envelopes. Never had any problems. Bubble mailer are just padded envelope, so they should work as long as FNSKU labels are attached to the outside and won’t come off.

ETA. I didn’t sign up to do Amazon’s ship in original container program, so I assume Amazon shipped my enveloped item in Amazon shipping envelope/box for orders, but I can’t say for sure they didn’t just slap an shipping label on my original envelope without any additional packages.

I do several products in more or less those exact same mailers without issue. Just make sure the bar code is scannable on the outside and put the suffocation warning labels on if it’s anywhere close to a 5" opening.

Just to reinforce this, I didn’t put the suffocation warning labels on my first shipment and they hit me with a fee to put them on and threatened to block me from inbound FBA. That didn’t happen but it was enough that I took it seriously for future shipments. The bag openings were 4.5", not 5" or greater but good luck arguing with them about that. Much easier to just put the warning labels on.

As far as damage goes, I didn’t notice any difference in those bubble bags versus the much more expensive boxes/bubble wrap that I had been using before. Saved money on the packaging, saved money on the pick, pack ship fees as the bubble mailers were small and lighter than the boxes/bubble wrap.

We have used white poly mailers with our brand printed on them
and apply the FBA sticker on the outside.
No problems to date.
