Canada Post on strike again

For those of you who mail to Canada (and those few Canadian here), the postal union has announced an immediate nationwide strike.

As if verification of my account isn’t enough of a morass, now I can get deactivation threats for VTR or go on vacation mode. Amazon is too much fun.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been following the updates, but the site I use for info must be a little behind. This is the correct site for Canada Post updates?

I wonder how the reduction of door to door will affect my Etsy orders.

Thank you!

Though we dropped Canada (we are in the US) in the Covid times. Canada Post had NO ability to deliver on time or even within 30 days of the required delivery date.

Caused many issues, and several negatives.

We went on vacation in CA and never went back. Best thing we ever did.

A shame, we appreciate our neighbors to the north.

I had an exchange with some Canadian Ebay sellers yesterday, asking about who reneged on the agreement that ended the previous strike.

They claimed that the previous strike ended because the strikers wanted their paychecks and nothing was resolved, so no one reneged.

I guess I was too interested in our US political follies to realize what the situation there was.

I only ship to Canada via Ebay International Shipping which does not usually use CanadaPost so it does not affect me. But given the current tariff disputes few Canadians are ordering from me. And besides, many Canadians resent the cost of the shipment to the Ebay hub.

P.S. I am not a fan of CanadaPost. It has not been consistent in delivery times for at least 30 years. USPS employees tell me it is because no truck leaves a CanadaPost facility until it is full, and Canada is a large country with a small population.
