Can't get title to edit on one of my brand registered listings.....?

We sell auto parts. Last year, most of the auto parts sellers started to get lots of suspected IP violations on their items because they didn’t have compatibility language before the make of the car (so they had Ford instead of “for” Ford, or “compatible with” Ford, etc.).

We fixed all of our listings and that took care of the issue. I had one of these pop up last night for a listing we fixed last year. When I went to check that listing, I noticed the “compatible with” was no longer before the car make. We didn’t change it. I did some searching and it actually appears this changed back in December suddenly and we didn’t notice until now.

In any event, we are brand registered so normally this is an easy fix. However, I absolutely cannot get this title to take my edit. I’ve tried 10 times through the edit seller inventory, I have uploaded flat files twice. It is taking all the other changes (I changed one or two other things just to see if those would change as a test) but not the title.

Any ideas on how we can get this pushed through? It says we only have 2 days to fix this before they remove the listing.

Can I delete it…re-add it with a changed title…and have it fall off my suspected IP count then? I realize some people say not to delete it…but if I re upload the exact same ASIN, wouldn’t this still fix it?

Given that the FMT-CMT mods/SMEs have been admitting for quite a few weeks that Amazon has been conducting split-testing with PDP Titles - up to and including to removing Brand Names - I think I’d probably create a case to inquire whether or not those unwelcome experiments might be having an impact in the SIPV Amabot’s decision.

May I ask if you have any CLRs/RFRs (“Category Listing Reports”/“Reverse Feed Reports” in ‘Amazonese’)* from the last 5 Business Quarters, archived, which show what the affected PDP’s Title was before SIPV (“Suspected Intellectual Property [Rights] Violation” in ‘Amazonese’) Notification appeared?

Terms which are interchangeable if one gets a savvy Amazonian to respond to a case - only those of that shrinking cohort who’ve been around for a while might remember when the nomenclature was change, some years back, but an abundance of evidence seems to suggest that the upper tiers of Amazon’s support infrastructure almost invariably do…

Funny you mention that….I actually swear the title now is what it was before I made the changes. I even moved a couple of words around when I did add the “compatible with” and I feel those all have been reverted to the old title. No one else selling this either….so I don’t think it’s a page permission/contribution thing like it normally is for sellers.

Also, I will add this isn’t an A/B test thing where Amazon removes the brand name because we have lots of those listings where they are testing that but it still has compatible with as the first 2 words in the title when they do this.

So they are saying an internal team is winning the contribution for this listing for the title. That probably explains why the title was changed. Really pissed off about this.

We are the manufacturer and brand registered. No one, including Amazon, should be allowed to get page ownership over us….especially when their screw ups are causing IP issues.

Seconded.

Amazon Retail Contributions are one of the many banes of my (and others, such as here in your situation, dammit) existence.

I’ll wait and hopefully that internal team fixes the issue tonight give the current title is not really allowed under Amazon policy due to the absence of the compatibility term.
