The chief executives of Walmart and Target privately warned President Trump this week that his sweeping tariff policy could disrupt supply chains and lead to empty shelves in the coming weeks, sources familiar with the White House meeting told CBS News. The CEO of Home Depot was also present at Monday’s closed-door meeting.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend that DJT knows much about how things actually work in the real world when it comes to commerce, but his economic advisors certainly should.
Nobody really batted an eye with the 20%. Could have just stuck with that and attempted to negotiate something better for the USA.
Instead, he made yet another unforced error and effed everything up for no apparent reason. Now he looks like an idiot - oh wait…

For a company who is lauded for its inventory control systems, Walmart has frequent bouts of emply shelves in the stores I visit.
Fulfilling online orders from the stores may be part of the issue, but the problems preceded the growth of Walmart.com.
If I was CEO of Walmart or Target, I too would be warning of inventory shortages today, whether it was true or not.

And I’m going to be very careful not to stray into prohibited topics 
…but it might be that in some cases, with some people, any number of educated advisors might tell them something, but they won’t really listen until the same words come from the mouths of others whom they hold in higher esteem.
It’s like my kids asking me if they can add an app to a device; for some reason, my “yes” or “no” simply doesn’t hold the same weight as Dad’s. And vice versa with activity permission or clothing choices; we can say the exact same things, but only Mom’s words get heard.

The reality is this just SUCKS, regardless of who you support. Anyone that argues anything different is very special.
Feel free to delete. Doesn’t bother me when that happens.

I do however wish the junk drawer had the ability to respond to posts. There’s a lot of good stuff in that drawer that we can help each other out with outside of the main purpose of this place. My 2 Cents on that…
