I need to change my email contact address on Amazon. I’ve had the same email address ever since I signed up with Amazon over 20 years ago. I’m worried that they may assume that my account was hacked.
I have found the page on Seller Central where I change my email. Anything that I should be aware of before I start the process? Thanks
We changed our a time back but it was before the INFORM Act.
We didn’t have an issue.
We did go through and change the notification sections (we do use different emails for customer messaging) first and a day later did the account one (merchant default - sign in).
When looking at the page now, we see the Verified badge on the merchant default and emergency notifications so we would expect you will have to do some sort of verification via an email / click through response (and possible OTP).
If the only thing you are changing is your email, it should not trigger any fraud alert issues. Changing multiple pieces of information at the same time is far more likely to cause you issues, especially if any of them include financial information.
I just changed my email and it was accepted. (Whew!) I did have to go through the two-step verification but that was expected.
My old email address that I’ve used for nearly 35 years will no longer be available to me. (It’s a long story).
I will need to change my contact email for SAS too.
Should be painless. If it’s not, give us a ping.

I’ve added the new address as an alternate. The old one should still be valid for a couple of weeks.
The list of contacts that I need to update is very long.
I was given incorrect information that I would be able to keep using my old email. That is why I did not start on the change process sooner.
Yea, I shared your concern too when the latest phone verification came out a few weeks ago.
I had the same # for both accounts I manage and Amazon doesn’t allow that anymore - like Kruger Industrial Smoothings could never have 2 Coco’s… (Seinfeld - Haha).
I used my wife’s cell for the Amazon account I am trying to close. No issue. Just a verification code…
