TLDR: Go to www.amazon.com/preferences/cpc/homepage/account-shipping/(link) and double-check your Buyer-side communication settings.
BONUS: Double-check your Amazon subscriptions at www.amazon.com/hz5/yourmembershipsandsubscriptions?ref_=navm_accountmenu_yms(link).

Anyone else suddenly getting Amazon (Buyer-side) marketing emails the last couple of days? I thought they were just flukes because I had them turned off, but by this morning I had received enough that I checked my settings.
Somehow, all Amazon marketing emails on the Buyer side of my Seller account had been reenabled.
It took me a few minutes to even find the settings, and even then it was only accidentally as I was (re?)cancelling subscriptions that I thought I had already cancelled, as I was looking for the email settings.
The Amazon Communications (link) page for Buyers is here: www.amazon.com/preferences/cpc/homepage/account-shipping/. I went through each category…
Seller account and buyer account linked and both used?
If linked, do you use the buyer account?
Is there one email associated with both seller and buyer account or separate emails for each account?
We have separate seller and buyer accounts (seller account has the buyer side but we do not use it). Both have different emails, addresses, phone numbers, etc. Seller account gets emails promoting the normal selling tools and to get a business buying account. Buyer account gets emails promoting sales and an occasional email telling us that we could start selling on Amazon.
This is on the Buyer side of my Seller account. I can access it from the link in Seller Central (and also directly, obviously).
Yes, I make some business purchases on Amazon with (the Buyer side of) my Seller account. (My household has a separate, Buyer-only Amazon account, for personal/family Amazon purchases, using a different, non-business email and personal credit cards on file.)
This is one account with one (business) email address–which is why it is particularly annoying for my (business) email to be cluttered with Amazon marketing emails and/or non-Seller-related emails from Amazon.
Here’s a sample, of a few since last night that I have not yet deleted (no idea why the America’s Test Kitchen one):
Many many years ago when we set up Amazon, we were a buyer first and became a seller second. Because it was taught to us to keep business and personal accounts separate, we set up Amazon with that in mind and kept all information separate like address, phone, email, credit cards, etc. On the personal buying account, we made a purchase for the business and used a credit card associated with the business but not used on the seller account. After doing that, we got the emails about becoming a seller on Amazon through the buyer account email … but that is it.
Since we do not use the buyer account side of the seller account, our business email for Amazon stays clean of promotional buying adversting (aka junk mail).
We know what we have shared doesn’t solve your issue but it does validate and give us a sigh of relief knowing that our intial setup has paid at least this small dividend.
