It is a serious concern. The East Coast Longshoremen would have no compunctions about using a strike threat or a strike before the election to get the best deal for their members.

The strike is a little over an hour away
No offers are on the table. All have been rejected.
The president has made it clear he does not believe in Taft Hartley.
