Kettle Jalapeno chips +1 BUMP!!
Strawberries in chocolate look good, especially if it’s dark chocolate. Also the whipped cream puff with strawberries ![]()
This thread doesn’t have a single pretzel. Shame on all of you.
I’m going to finish my lunch of French onion soup now.
All-time favorite snack, currently in my cabinet and which I really have to control myself from binging on — raw pistachio nuts.
Favorite seasonal snack — we make our own ice cream in the summer, using real cream and various add-ins of nuts, fruit chunks, and coconut shreds. Yes, we eat premium ice cream all year in this house, but nothing compares to freshly home made.
My favorite decadent snack for special occasions — those little tarts with custard and fruit.
Snyder’s of Hanover, in the box
I spent some time in Singapore working in my last real job in the 1980’s. The hotel I stayed at in the early morning would offer “breakfast snacks” in the atrium. One of the options was pistachios, love them, requested them.
They sent over a young lady with a large china (the bowl not the country) of pistachio nuts. They had taken them out of the shells! Now back then in the US, the “natural” option was not very available. For some reason the dyed them pink. But back to the story.
She kneeled down at my side, and held this bowl of shelled pistachios out. Never left, just let me snack, and when I was done, she departed.
One of the oddest moments I have had traveling on business. Except possibly for the Chickens Feet Salad served in a Watermelon. Also in Singapore.

Also in Singapore.
And don’t forget the “Flaming Cheetos” on Bugis Street. Singapore is a fascinating colorful country! Makes me want to dig up my analog photos of Tiger Balm Gardens!
Upon leaving our yearly vacation from Port Aransas to the mainland on the ferry, we would always leave with a big pot of Spaghetti pasta for the Seagulls. Amazing catching skills and an occasional pasta toupee for some.
Singapore is a fascinating colorful country!
And so misunderstood. People I have talked to think it is a backwards country. Yet they require English be part of every citizen’s language.
They also require the trade shows be opened up on weekends to the general public. It turns from a business event to a child and young adult event. We even handed out balloons when we were there.
The intent is to make sure they have life long learners interested in technology. And this was 35 years ago, good for them.
Also in Singapore.
We went in 1979.. Different memories from what Image and Wade had.
Cleanest big city ever. Bustling streets 24/7 and a tower mall (12 floors?) open 24/7. I bought pearls and cloisonne. Whozzit went into every single electronics store.
I can’t remember where we stayed, but we visited Raffles Hotel so we could lounge in rattan chairs while drinking a Singapore Sling. Plus we bought the T-shirts.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. You are 100% correct, cleanest big city ever. They made that clear on the inbound flight. No drugs, if so then, jail forever. If you bring in gum and chew it, you will be canned. Nothing wrong with that, like Amazon their playground their rules. Never saw one piece of gum on the sidewalk ever.
Great city, would relocate, but they require a deposit of $1M to do so. And if you want a car you have to already have one. Again, nothing wrong with that.
