Delivery Window for LTL Non-Partnered Carrier Shipment Plans

Planning on creating my first non-partnered carrier shipment plans going from 3PL to FC. I’ve never encountered delivery windows since partnered carriers have their internal timelines directly with Amazon and we only have tracking to FC. When using non-partnered carrier the delivery window seems critical and can’t be changed to after the selected time period (Sunday - Saturday). My guess is, I can select a delivery window far into the future and then adjust earlier as it would seem seller central and therefore amazon allows this. Anything after the delivery window week is impossible and if the non-partnered carrier misses delivery window (i.e. if they don’t set an appointment within that window) - then the shipment will be rejected. Therefore, I want to confirm that I can use a delivery window that is far ahead in the future and then adjust to before said window after I get a clearer indication from non-partnered carrier on delivery window?

Any experience or feedback?

Just curious why you wouldn’t use a partnered carrier or Amazon Freight? Not available in the area, or shipping from a port?

We’ve never used a non-partnered so wouldn’t know but the rules have changed for that recently. Maybe there’s some info on the NSFE you can get.

Because it is cheaper to ship via non-partnered carrier from our 3PL flat rate then it is in dealing with Amazon’s new Shipment weight Audits. 2-3 x we got charged double for incorrect weight class when we have the weight class correctly selected so even if there is a weight discrepancy - the incorrect freight class designation from Class 125 to + 200, doubles of triples the charge. Just not worth the price at that point. SPD and non-partnered carrier from now on - for our size tiered product.

I hear ya, believe me I do, but I hope your carrier deals with Amazon regularly, and understands how to get in.

Yes that’s pretty much all they do - it’s part of the 3PL so its not price first - its logistics first, plus live unload so generally faster than partnered carrier trailer drop off. Won’t know until I do. A lot of firsts like its 2019 again and I’m just starting out lol. It sucks because the business wasn’t designed for these impacts. And perhaps that is entirely my bad

Nice. Sounds like you are in good hands then.
