Different place same Scam as amazon.

I recently had a purchase on my own website. Then on the day of delivery I get the “empty package” template E-mail. Identical to the ones I get on Amazon. I need a replacement immediately they want to file a claim etc.. etc.

The photo even looked the same except for a different shipping label.

Ok ■■■■■■■ now you are playing by my rules. I send an e-mail that he can file a claim with USPS. and a link to report theft.
I also advise him that the envelope should have come in an “We’re sorry your package was damaged” envelope and an exception should have been noted in the tracking.

A few days later, another e-mail that clearly ignored my original e-mail. They say that USPS won’t cover it because I used substandard packaging for a “heavy tool” and it got caught in a sorting machine (again template e-mail for scam)

I explain we have literally shipped 1000’s of these items in the same packaging (2lbs and the package is rated for 20 lbs) Yes it is insured so go file a claim. Here are the links and the link to report a theft

Get an e-mail back “ok as long as it is insured I am headed to the post office now”

Wait what happened to I need these for an Xmas present?

I inform him that you have to file a claim online and now have not heard anything in a week.

Oh and yes it falls under shopify protection from chargebacks.

I thought the sender had to be the one to file an insurance claim through USPS. But perhaps it’s different with Shopify or with some insurers? Just curious. I’ve never had to file a claim.

If the buyer purchases the insurance through the sale, the buyer would be entitled to the claim.

In the past, we have processed claims through USPS for labels we had purchased on both Amazon and PayPal as the shipper. This has been done after we have either replaced the order or refunded the order AND the package shows as not delivered.

Receiver or sender can file a claim. In the case of a damaged package the receiver has to file because they have the damaged packaging which USPS will want to examine
