Does anyone know what is meant by “distributor damaged”? I understand “customer damaged”, and “warehouse damaged”, but who would be a “distributor”?
They are claiming it was damaged outside of Amazon’s possession. Your supply chain is “distributor” in that case. If a box gets to an FC with broken stuff on the inside and no damage on the outside, Amazon will blame your supply chain for it.
So this would be something that I’d expect to happen just as a shipment is “received” at an FC, and the damaged ones would not be counted in the received quantity, but in an “unsellable” count.
That’s not what happened - I’ve had good luck with getting amazon to agree with the quantities I send them. They put them into inventory. They are in Amazon’s possession for a while before they are later labeled as “distributor damaged”.
I also see that they accept a return for “damaged in transit”, but then call it “customer damaged” to avoid paying reimbursement. How do I get Amazon to stop using the paper envelopes with zero padding, when the delivery process apparently includes using the package as a soccer ball?
Lots of luck.
Amazon is extremely proud of the positive environmental effects of their use of paper envelopes with no padding. Something they sent me, as a buyer, totaled the environmental savings which result from that use.
My experience with my purchases is that they are using the paper envelopes for appropriate shipments, and might even safely expand their use.
