Do we have to pay $5 every time we edit a coupon now?

I edited the ASINs on a coupon and was just clicking through quickly, as I normally do, so I only caught a glimpse of $5 before it was too late. Are we going to get charged $5 every time we edit those ASINs now?

That’s not been my understanding ever since Amazon announced the fee changes outlined in the 032025 News Headline “Amazon is making it easier to try using deals and coupons to create additional demand for your products” (link) - but it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that Amazon is doing exactly that in order to increase profit.

I’ll have to consult with our Promotions staff to see if they’re aware of a similar scenario.

Just had a look at the SHC’s applicable policy page, “Coupon Fees” @ https: //sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/M2HYLSWFBZ267BB; I see that there’ve been some minor changes since last I archived it on 031326, but I see no reference to another up upfront fee being charged for editing a Coupon.

Among the three changes I see (removal of the phrase “… , effective for coupons created on or after November 5, 2025. …” from the ‘Variable fee’ sentence in the “Coupon fee structure” section, and of the Project Amelia “Summarize” button) this has been added to the “Fee exemptions” section:

  • If you select “today” as the start date, the upfront fee is charged immediately, even if the coupon is canceled before customers can see it. Learn more at Create a coupon

I’m guessing that’s where Amazon is hanging its hat for this editing charge; I don’t see any indication of it on the linked SHC page “Create a Coupon” @ https: //sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/202189350.
