People on the outage detection website say that their session expired and they can’t log back in. One person says, “An Unknown Error Has Occurred” each time I try to log back in on the app.”
The outage has caused concern among businesses relying on Facebook for marketing, highlighting the platform’s significant role in global communication. Users have migrated to other social networks to voice frustrations and seek updates, with #FacebookDown trending.

Users of Meta’s Facebook, Instagram, Threads and Messenger platforms are experiencing login issues in what appears to be a widespread outage.
Internet traffic observer Down Detector is reporting vast outages on several Meta platforms Tuesday. The problems are being reported across the world, suggesting that the outage could be global.
London-based internet monitoring firm Netblocks said on X that four Meta platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads – were “currently experiencing outages related to login sessions in multiple countries.” But the firm, which advocates for internet freedom, said there was no sign of “country-level internet disruptions or filtering,” which are typically imposed by governments.

Seriously, these social media are important daily tools that many small businesses rely on for engagement, building customer relationships, and communication channels. It’s a big deal when they can’t access these tools that are honestly more important than email in some cases.
