FBA Limits / Capacity Manager

They will have a few more centers open by then. From what I am gathering, East coast is OK. West coast, not so much. Since we are in NY, we should be good.

I was ready to jump on this 2 years ago but they wouldn’t take products with expiration dates.

And then I read all the nightmare stories and that was that…

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I knew it might be late for August and I was vacillating between asking for additional space and not asking. I did just put in for September on your suggestion and put it for 11 days out. Come August, I will be putting in for additional capacity in October.

I’m not too terribly concerned with the price for next month. The system made a suggestion that was expensive, but it beats having to do mathematical gymnastics (if approved) in arranging shipments. I’m currently at 81% capacity which is high for me, but the baseline dropped so low that any new products and current inventory replacement would be next to impossible.

This month’s capacity costs, if approved, is just my version of the “stupid tax”.

My response was missing 1 thing… The 28th might be the last possible expiration date for Aug… We ran into that once and because it was so close, it was denied.

Amazon made the most recent slash towards the end of the month which made things even worse in this regard. For now we have a system that seems to work with very minimal extra cost, if any (most months), which means Amazon will find a new way to pull the rug from under smart sellers.

They aren’t very smart. There are always loopholes that are easily exploited on the seller side. Example - placement fees. We just always split 5 ways. When combining that with the FBA fee that was reduced when placement fees came out, our margin actually went up. lol

learning tax

You’re too kind.

otherwise referred to as the “stupid learning tax”?

Or “I don’t make the same mistake twice” insurance? :winking_face_with_tongue:

This has to be the joke of the century - Notice how they flipped the units to cubic meters vs historical cubic feet…my new limit is 580 cubic ft which is just enough for my tp supply and I use a bidet

compare with prior capacity limit

Were you cut like everyone else was a couple months ago? Like 60%, or are they just getting to you?

I was not. They are just getting to me. If memory serves - they increased it again right?

Mine tanked hard, then rose somewhat over the past few months.

Only for seasonal sellers.

We went from 800 feet to 250. So now we buy up to 800 and Amazon gives us our $ back on performance credits.

It’s literally a joke.

Sorry to hear that Amazon effed you yet again. The gift that just keeps giving…. And Taking…..!

Wonder if garlic works on Brazilians?

...

I think this email is probably a mistake.

I got the same email showing the same cubic meters, but when I went to the capacity monitor, it shows my capacity in cubic feet, and it’s much higher than the cubic meters, which as you pointed out, is… “insufficient.”

My money is on ama-glitch, as the q4 is coming and it’s screw up season.
Also, the meters thing.

I noticed that after you mentioned it. There is some ease in this thought. Ty!

Has anyone see the “Build up inventory email for Q4 yet”, and get it in by Oct XX? Are they not doing this and keeping FBA receiving as normal through Q4?

This is the closest thing to that I received last week:

Sending your inventory

To ensure Prime-badge eligibility during key 2025 sales events, make sure your inventory arrives by the following dates:

Prime Big Deal Day Event

  • Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD): August 29

  • Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) Minimal shipment splits: September 10

  • FBA Amazon-optimized shipment splits: September 19

Black Friday/Cyber Monday Week Event

  • AWD: October 9

  • FBA Minimal shipment splits: October 20

  • FBA Amazon-optimized shipment splits: October 30

All domestic and international shipments will be scheduled with a 7-day delivery window. You will see this in the Send to Amazon workflow starting August 18 if using Amazon non-partnered carriers. This change improves our ability to plan receiving appointments for all sellers and ensure we can process your inventory faster. Shipments arriving within their scheduled window will receive priority processing, while shipments arriving outside of their scheduled delivery windows may face appointment and receive delays. For more information, go to Send to Amazon: Delivery Window – with standard calendar weeks.

As a reminder, you can use Capacity Manager if you need to request additional FBA space for your holiday products. We also recommend using Amazon Warehousing and Distribution to hold extra inventory at lower rates and automatically replenish to fulfillment centers as needed.

Holiday Peak Fulfillment Fees

Consistent with previous years, holiday peak fulfillment fees will apply from October 15, 2025 through January 14, 2026, for FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF), and Buy with Prime, and these peak fees will be the same as last year. Peak fulfillment fees for FBA and Remote Fulfillment with FBA are now available for preview in the Revenue Calculator and Fee and Economics Preview Report so you can plan using real-time cost comparisons across fulfillment types.

Peak readiness and timelines for FBA capacity limits

The busy holiday season is approaching, which means it’s time to start sending in your inventory.

We want you to succeed this holiday season, and to ensure you have enough products in stock for peak, we recommend sending your FBA inventory to fulfillment centers in August and September.

Inventory must arrive at our fulfillment centers by October 19, 2024, to guarantee it’s Prime badge-ready by Black Friday.

Our fulfillment center teams will be focused on receiving inventory in September and October to ensure your products are placed in the right fulfillment centers ahead of peak.

In November and December, we’ll shift our focus to processing customer orders as this is our busiest time of year.

Note: We’ll have limited slots to accept your shipments at our fulfillment centers during November and December.

This seasonal shift helps us ensure faster delivery speeds and maximizes your sales potential during the holidays. Also, you may see lower estimated capacity limits for October and November. On average, the estimated capacity limits for October and November can help provide enough storage for six months of inventory.

The Capacity Monitor tool helps you stay up-to-date on capacity limits. You can now view estimated capacity limits for October, and November capacity limits will be available starting August 20. All date recommendations are subject to change.

Additionally, to help you simplify operations and manage inventory more efficiently during peak, we eliminated the overage fee for storage effective July 1, 2024. This means if your on-hand inventory exceeds your capacity limit, you will not incur the overage fee. To learn more, go to FBA inventory storage overage fees.

You can find more recommendations and best practices for a successful holiday season in the peak readiness playbook.
