Fedex adjustments on Amazon purchased shipping labels...

We shipped out a package via Buy Shipping and were hit with a $7.75 adjustment.
It apparently updated the size of the package from 60x4x4 and 5 pounds 5 ounces to 60x4x4 and 6 pounds.

However, the shipping label for 5 pounds, 5 ounces is the same as one that is 6 pounds…so not really sure why they would have charged this still.

Is this something to take up with seller support or what is the consensus on how to deal with adjustments on Amazon labels (since Fedex won’t talk to me as it was Amazon’s account number)?

I’m gonna tag in @Lost_My_Marbles since they had the same problem (though perhaps a different carrier):

Two different issues … apples and oranges.

If it is a frequent issue, then we would dive into it and try seller support … but even that will most likely be a dead end. If you have the data to back up what you shipped, create the support case and (if you do NSFE) post on NSFE with the case number and tag KJ_Amazon. There have been several posts on NSFE about FedEx issues recently.

We didn’t waste our time on our USPS adjustments as they were part of the recycled label issue and were small amounts … therefore not worth our time to prove.

Ah, I’m sorry that I misunderstood.

I have seen quite a few complaints about this on the NSFE. Everyone ends the same.
Amazon claims no responsibility and FedEx basically says “Too Bad, So Sad”

The contract between them is a very strange one, FedEx will not insure any packages from Amazon buy shipping and if anything is off, all discounts are null and void.
The adjustment probably includes the removal of the discounts.

can’t argue with that.

Just one of the reasons I haven’t used FedEx in years. They keep calling me and offering obscene discounts on 2nd day, overnight etc. (80%) but I had more issues with them per shipment than USPS, UPS and Amazon shipping combined.

20% of shipments were lost or late (overnight shipment taking 5 days to go a few hundred miles)
For the others it was 5% for amazon
less than 1% for USPS and UPS

Same, but it seems very inconsistent across their network. A relative in one neighboring state uses FedEx exclusively for their fabricating business, and a relative in another neighboring state uses them exclusively for their telecom business.

Meanwhile, I’m over here like, but don’t you want your orders actually delivered?! USPS as much as possible for me (and UPS only if I have to).
