We had an employee forget to not use FedEx freight to deliver to Amazon, only to find out the hard way that FedEx is still boycotting Amazon and will refuse to call for an appointment and make you pay to return shipments they refuse to deliver.
FedEx wants ~$700 to pickup a pallet, refuse to deliver it for their own internal reasons, then charge you to return it to yourself or they will auction it off after 10 days.
Question for everyone. Should I let them bill me for everything then just do a CC chargeback or dispute a different way? Seems like a pretty good scam to hold peoples stuff hostage to make extra money on shipments to places you don’t like.
Yup, but how do you combat that when it happens? My business partners want to just do a CC dispute. I think its a scam or at the least very scam adjacent when they know every address in the United State before they pick it up.
Do you do other business with FedEx? Do you know a rep? ETA: I would try the human customer service route before a chargeback.
Otherwise, they shouldn’t charge you for an address that they know they can’t deliver to. That’s on them. ETA: And if they don’t work with you, then yes, chargeback AFTER your goods are back in your possession. Maybe enough chargebacks like that, they start blocking the addresses, like @Pepper_Thine_Angus said.
Not freight, we have a broker for freight. We had a remote employee book it at a third party warehouse which is how this whole debacle started.
Yes, but only for packages, no overlap. No reply to our email in about 24 hours due to out of office reply.
Tried calling they flatly said “you have to agree to the terms for us to ship it back to you.” at which point I asked, “So you are holding my property hostage with storage fees until I agree to pay for a problem caused by your refusal to deliver to a specific location you were aware of before you picked it up?”
Agree. They want to bill me for moving from point A to 99% of point B, and then bill me again to reverse the process.
