Sounds like the people compiling the data are the ones to blame; Pringles should not be counted.
Although I’ll add that I’m a bit surprised to see my old stomping grounds preferring Utz; I don’t recall ever seeing them growing up there.
Utz has grown leaps and bounds in the last 10 years, still mostly produced in the original locations but apparently nitrogen bag flushing has allowed greater shipping distances.
Truth be told, from eastern Michigan to eastern PA is the heart of a ton of small brands that may skew the data a lot. Those small regional brands made in places no larger then a 3 car garage have a fierce following. Most snack aisles have giant sections for chips and pretzels and will have 50+ brands
And, sadly for my glucose levels and weight, they generally have several on sale every week. We have UTZ in WI and they have been pretty good when I have gotten them. Used to be a few small brands around here as well.
I REALLY miss when I could get the 1# BOX of chips that had two 8 ounce bags in it when I was a ‘kid’ (even into my 20’s and married. Then they went away…
Now do Mayonnaise. Hellman’s Real Mayonnaise all the way here!
Funny, I never heard of UTZ potato chips until I went to my first Yankees game, years ago. They advertise regularly there. A friend swears by them, and served them just last week at cocktails. We had a slighty surreal discussion about the different flavors they produce, and how some were hard to get, so I offered to order some for her with my regular Amazon grocery order.
Boulder Red Wine Vinegar 
No real argument (although I grew up in Duke’s territory), but keep in mind that the the Hellman’s in a jar is not the same as the Hellman’s in the squeeze bottle; jar is far superior.
Although, due to Nisha’s food allergies, we use Geffen that is Kosher for Passover* (about the only way to be sure there is no corn), which is also very good (Glick’s is decent, but not quite as good).
*since during much of the year, the Geffen is NOT certified as Kosher for Passover, that means that every late winter, I buy enough mayo to last us a year. Since we like a lot of things like coleslaw and egg salad during the summer, that means I’m buying a case of mayo by March every year; gets some odd looks at the checkout.
ETA: For those living west of the Mississippi who don’t already know this, the product sold in the east as “Hellman’s” is identical to the west coast’s “Best Foods”.
If they’re going to spell it “favourite,” shouldn’t they be using the word “crisps”?
