Fun with Wild Animals

Figured I would take a picture of this dichead before I snuffed his or her destructive life out.

They are starting to enter the next phase around here.

They will be all over your area for 2 years, then they move on/die out.

This will be the 2nd summer 98% free of them. But kill as many as you can! They don’t like sevin!

That’s good to hear. Had no idea.

Thanks

Is that a tick, with red???

Spotted lantern fly.

Harmless to humans, but deadly to grapes, and other plants.

Well, not to all plants.

Reason # 14,284 for planting the ever-popular Mighty Rutabaga…

The kittens have been here six days. The darker one is male ( tentatively named Porthos ). He attacks everything. He is about a pound heavier than his sister ( named ā€˜Luna’ ) but looks smaller because he is preparing to spring at the camera.

BTW, his name is tentative because my wife doesn’t care much for it. I chose Porthos because he is a fighter ( did I mention that he attacks everything? ) and he is probably going to be big. ( He was 3 pounds, 9 ounces at nine weeks, and presumably will be topping out at 15 to 18 pounds . )
Anyone have a better suggestion for his name?

Will ā€œPouncerā€ fly with the better ½?

ā€œThe Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn’t just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have three different names.ā€

Tell me about it. Ollie is a freaking wrecking ball. Never had a cat like that. Hoping this is a phase…

How about Goliath?

Mahomes

10 Days, UPDATE TIME!

Update, Update, Update. Is that all you ever think about? It’s not even Wednesday yet. :innocent:

He’s great. Nearly perfect eye. Even the color is starting to even out. Introduced him to Kara yesterday for a about an hour. They both got puffy and she hissed but no attacks. Need to do this a few more times before we set him loose and resume life…

Sorry, I’ve been stripping / refinishing the 2 fiberglass doors to my house (2-family). Quite a project to make white fiberglass look like wood but the idiots that built this house 17 years ago were able to do it.

I stripped off the old finish and put the gel stain on it for 12 hours on Friday and I’ve got 1 more coat of marine poly to go in about an hour. Then hardware back on and done…

Note to self - this was a PITA. Hire someone next time.

We set Ollie loose this morning in our house with Kara. He’s being an a$$hole and she was trying to be nice. Big tough 5lb guy vs. 16lb Kara who looks like a Puma.

Just worried about her potentially scratching his eye… She will not let us cut her nails so they are SHARP…

He’s all puffed up with his arched back.

It is long past time for pictures.

Agreed. As much as I love to read how the progress is going, I’d just like to mention…
