MCF is good business for Amazon.
Not just because it is profitable.
It is the best defense against the thousands of sellers, domestic and international, selling product ordered from Prime at outrageously high prices on other internet marketplaces. These sales lead to widespread dissatisfaction with the other marketplaces and with Amazon.
I didn’t realize that Amazon MCF was already handling Temu sales as an integrated channel and gearing up to add Shein soon.
Then again, I didn’t expect Amazon to add Walmart, either. I’m truly curious what Walmart thinks about this. Maybe nothing, sales are sales–but maybe they don’t like Amazon gaining any more insight into their sales stats or popular products. ![]()
I appreciate the article reminding everyone that Walmart prohibits orders shipped in Amazon packages. It notes that those will be shipped in blank envelopes and boxes–but I wonder at what point Walmart might require Sellers to add some kind of “Walmart official” sticker or tape to delivery packaging (and how much Amazon MCF will charge Sellers to do this).
I mean Amazon doesn’t allow sellers to ship from WFC and they can tell based upon the tracking. Or has this changed?
The old saying “If you can’t beat 'em, join 'em.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if Walmart added some required packing slip or information, but MCF doesn’t block it showing it comes from Amazon. I suspect Walmart will find a way to track that link where it shows where it ships from and start shutting sellers down. Right now, though, I don’t think they have the ability to do much of anything since one support ticket takes over a month to be looked at.
