Getting started with Walmart

no…never happened when Mom had to ship an order and help me out.

It sat in Chicago too long and now it’s gonna be late.

Here’s a silly question for Walmart sellers…

Is there a way to have a separate phone number for customer service that doesn’t roll into all the other contact categories??? I just got a call at 11:30PM from a moron buyer in CA that didn’t get their WFS order yet (even though it was promised for 5-2).

I’d rather not have customers have my personal cell #, rather our customer service phone #.

The problem is I would rather have my cell for some of the other categories (like if Walmart wanted to call me to add our products to their stores (I’m dreaming, I know)…

If I go in and change the phone # for customer service, it reverts all the categories to that #.

Maybe there’s a trick???

Thanks,
Steve

In setting, manage contacts.
It should allow you to set one specifically for customer service.

Unfortunately it’s the other way around. You need to convince Walmart that your product goes on the store. They won’t ask you

Weird… When I switch that number it switches everything.

I fooled around with it so much last night that Walmart actually called me today to verify my phone # when I was picking my kid up from school. That was weird. Glad I answered it bc it was an unknown caller from an 855 #

Actually not true. The way the process works there is the Category Manager team has monthly meetings and they review the marketplace for opportunities. I know more than 1 company that was cold called by the buyers there.

Weird… When I switch that number it switches everything.

Are you changing it just in the Customer Service Contact area?

Yup…

My trick is to turn my ringer off at 8 pm and back on automatically at 6:15 am.

My kids who are identified as favorites break through if they call.

Also on Verizon – we’re all on verizon – if you call three times quickly, it’s supposed to break through as well.

Signing up for Walmart. Do they have 2 address options like Amazon, so the display address can be different from the account business address?

Anybody know?

I don’t remember this when we signed up and I was just poking around and don’t see that option so 95% sure that they don’t.

Our corporate address is the one that is displayed on the Walmart seller page, I don’t think you can change that. We ship and get returns from a different address though.

Does Amazon let you do that? I thought the big problem for sell-from-home sellers was that you couldn’t? That Amazon was going to post your home address publicly, whether you agreed to it or not.

I work from home so only had one address to give Walmart. I don’t recall separate options for two. The one thing I do recall is that you could register as either an individual, with your SS#, or a business with an EIN. Supposedly (according to Walmart’s own help screens), you aren’t allowed to use your SS, but I did, so I think that help page is outdated.

I also, somehow (I’m not sure how) got my display information there to include my DBA instead of my personal name, along with my home address. That’s what I wanted, so I’m not going to question it.

I’m not sure if any of that helps you at all, but like @ASV_Vites, I don’t recall an option for two address when I signed up, although I might not have noticed, since I only have one.

Yes you can on Amazon. Your business address is what is displayed and can be different than the legal entity address - which must match the tax documentation.

I wasn’t seeing an option either, asking in case I was missing something.

Thank you Roxy, and @ASV_Vites & @Tandi

I have an open case now for almost two months. When Walmart buy shipping rolled out, the return address was my old home address.

We moved 3 years ago.

I thought I got all addresses to update in all locations until this one.

Why do they force Hyperwallet or payoneer as payment options?

can’t payments be sent directly to our bank account?

I third Payoneer. I set up Payoneer a long time ago when my company was in Hong Kong and Amazon wouldn’t pay out directly to an HK account. I had no issues with it then and it still works flawlessly now with Walmart.

Good Luck,

TJB

Just to close it up - Reps response is:

Unfortunately, we don’t have ACH deposits yet but we will soon. Its free to use Hyperwallet or Payoneer and is easy to setup.

Not sure about that been waiting for an hour to get the “account verification code” from Hyperwallet that is supposedly sent to our email address

Also they say our account has been “Archived” since we haven’t used it since 2015.
Now we can’t use our NAME in the new account setup because it already exists. So rep says he’s going to get that cleared up…I won’t hold my breath.

We use Payoneer, it was relatively hassle free to set up and we have never had an issue with it. Agree on it being ridiculous that there is no direct deposit.
If they do roll out a direct deposit option, I’ll probably switch.

Never an issue with Payoneer with Walmart. Yea it sucks that you have to set up another account for something else, passwords, yada yada yada.

Payment transfers happen almost instantly.

Chiming in late, but a Payoneer participant here too.

I also feel like Walmart subcontracts out the responsibility to issue 1099’s so be on the look out for that next tax season.

Walmart doesn’t do those, I get an email from Payoneer with a link where I can pull it down. It always takes me a minute too to understand what I’m supposed to put in to get to it. and even though I write it down, I never remember… (like last four of my EIN?)
