Running into issues with several of our products being categorized as gl_grocery_perishable. I think this is why we’re getting blocked from listing/selling FBA. This seems to be a different thing than a browse node (which is correct). I’m in the waiting game for Amazon support to tell me stuff (if they actually will).
I can’t find any real information on gl codes/product categories. Anyone else deal with them and willing to offer insight?
Found a post on NSFE about gl category attributes …
the ASIN: B0DW7Y1YFX, has inconsistency product category and in order to fix the issue the GL should be corrected, the product type in child ASIN is MUSICAL_INSTRUMENT_TOY, and the product type on parent is WRITING_BOARD. please submit a partial update via feed to update this information.
In the example above, there is a mismatch between a parent product type and the child product type.
gl_grocery_perishable means Amazon thinks the item is …
Perishable: This denotes items that have a limited shelf life and are susceptible to spoilage, decay, or becoming unsafe if not stored under specific conditions, usually requiring refrigeration or freezing. Examples include fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, dairy products, and cooked leftovers
We would check the product types of the effected products as a bot may have changed them do to wording in the title, bullets, or description. If a bot did the change, then you will have to figure out what wording triggered the bot to react and change it … along with changing the product type back. Best way to update is to submit a partial update via feed to update this information.
Thanks @Lost_My_Marbles. You’ve got better searching skills and/or more patience than me today.
These ASINs were fine and then suddenly they are not. So, yes, it sounds like a bot change. I’ll see what I can fix it with a partial upload. Wish me luck :).
New Bot changes could be bad code related to this new initiative:
Amazon is expanding its same-day delivery service to include perishable grocery items like produce, dairy, meat, and frozen foods in over 1,000 cities and towns, with plans to reach over 2,300 by the end of the year.
And of course the correct browse node is under the Frozen subcategory (even though the product and the sub-sub category isn’t perishable). Nothing on the product update file says GL. grrr… more cases with Amazon today.
