Received this today. I don’t do any paid advertising on Etsy so pound sand you lazy MF!
It’s not my fault I’m a criminal! Lol
I guess the “we’ve hacked your Webcam and have naked pictures of you” emails (same template) never worked.
0.05 btc is about $1500 usd. Not a small ask!
I got this in my email client but the message does not show up on Etsy dashboard. The address header however is identical to other Etsy conversations ( [email protected](dot)com on behalf of Etsy Conversations <[email protected](dot)com>
But is the source an etsy server, or is it spoofed?
I’m smelling spoof
yeah it was spoofed. I did not look correctly at the properties.
Yep, then it’s the same people who were doing the Webcam bitcoin thing
Does gmail allow gifs?
Who writes these awful things, it’s almost like they are trying to justify this extortion as something normal.
I understand this proposal may seem unpleasant, but I hope you understand it’s not my fault…
They are calling it a “donation”
I received this today; not nearly as awful as the message you received.
It is so sad there are so many people these days trying to defraud others…
I don’t know. If it was a way to access your account that would be baaaad!
People suck.
I received this today
Well, that isn’t going to work. The giveaway is that it comes from Amazon “support”. We all know there is no such thing. Now if the heading said ‘A message from Amazon Seller Screw You Over Department’, you might have believed it.
Interestingly, the IP 144.68.119.02 yields this upon IP lookup
So it must have been a forced login from an outer space internet connection.
Oh look … it was from the droid family from a galaxy far far away …
did you send it [email protected]?
wonder what amazon does.
Yes, I sent it to them.
Their response…
I also wonder what they do with these or if they do indeed investigate.
The last octet “02” is an invalid IPV4 octet and therefore makes it bogus. If it was real, it would have been “.2” instead of “.02”.

Apparently many Etsy sellers received this message yesterday. Etsy is saying that they have deactivated the accounts from which the messages were sent which is why the messages aren’t showing up on the receiving sellers’ dashboards.
This was alllll over Reddit last night - shame Etsy didn’t catch it. Apparently all over the FB groups also, and it was always from a different generic name (Debbie, Susan, Ann, etc.).
“Let’s be friends”
You’d think they have some trigger - say, 20 PM’s sent in a day, buyer with no prior history - stop messages until verified?
