I post rarely on the NSFE, unless queries on books/shipping though I read a few daily.
Wondering more and more if all MODS but SEAMOD (Susan) are BOTS? Noticed another poster spelled out boldly SELLERS ASK SELLERS and encouraged a confused poster to join. They weren’t flagged(as far as I know)! My own mentions have been more subtle.
So, gonna play Devil’s advocate:
As sellers continue to migrate here, are we playing TPTB’s game? They can now collectively shrug their shoulders; saying they TRIED to provide seller help but the most knowledgeable migrated to another forum.
Most of the time, TPTB’s interventions are crude/immediate. Are they capable of playing such a long game? Not trying to be controversial, just asking…
I don’t think the current goal of the ASF is “help”.
I think it’s “marketing”.
So I don’t think they even notice when a few Sellers abandon them for a different platform because there are 2K fresh and naive newbies to replace them.
The NSFE mods:

I believe their plan was to bludgeon the forums until they conformed to a format that is completely (or at least mostly) automated, requiring as little human intervention as possible. This, with a small side of “make sure nobody says or does anything that may expose us to lawyers” would allow them to dump the entire forum in the outbox and move on to automating other parts of Amazon, like SAFE-T claim appeals.

I have to wait for my cake until Feb 3 too, my stats said 361 days visited. Guess I’m here everyday. I’m truly grateful for the generosity and expertise of everybody who runs this forum, and the helpfulness & camaraderie from everybody on the forum.

I blew my chance yesterday. Internet was down for almost 2 days and still glitching.
So today is our “birthday” of going out on our own from Discourse hosted to our very own server!
How do I know? Cause I just got the yearly bill! LOL
Edit to add, I need to double check the dates, it MIGHT be the 22nd is our B-Day on our own server, cause that’s the date the invoice is due!

It’s my understanding that THE SAS - the Sellers Ask Sellers Forum right here - was launched 3 years ago, in view of the Borging/Doxxing that had pretty much doomed the NSFE from the moment a loose-lipped mod had let slip word of the Screeching Harpy’s plans the previous fall, on 27January 2023.
I would propose that a hearty round of applause for the SAS Staff - who’ve not only made it possible for us to communicate, commiserate, & compare notes as in times of yore, but have also done so solely out of the goodness of their own hearts, with nary so much as a request for our help in defraying support expenses - is well in order in celebration of such as auspicious occasion as a third birthday.
