I’m requesting a partial refund from one of my Trade Assurance orders. The process seems very slow and sluggish. It started since October 14 and Alibaba mediator is still asking for more evidence even though both supplier and I already sent a bunch of documents. I’m requesting a refund because the supplier didn’t create the mold as agreed. The supplier refused to return the mold fee and wanted to continue the order. If you ever done a refund from Alibaba, please share your experiences or tips. Thanks.
I have seen some posters on other forums claim success.
Your example is exactly why I do not import. And not just from China.
The successful importers I have known have had a person located in the exporting country who was loyal to them, A person who vetted the supplier, and inspected the product prior to shipment.
I would not choose a supplier based solely on the information Alibaba provides. Many of the sellers on Alibaba are jobbers, not manufacturers and will ship you product they have obtained for the lowest cost. They may not have the facilities to create a mold, but will commit to provide one.
When Taiwan was a major supplier of lower cost electronics to the US, I explored importing. When I totaled all of the costs to do so, I sought out and found an importer in the US who could beat the pricing and commit to a consistent product for several years. His brother was located in Taiwan and monitored his sources.
We did a lot of business over the next 5 years, until I moved on to other ventures.
Thanks for sharing. Where did you find them? I would like to dig up the info to find/learn any tips.
Yep, that’s a better way to do it.
My situation is a bit strange. I’ve been selling this product that is manufactured from this factory for many years. However I’ve done it through a treading company. Hence higher price. A few months ago I made a switch because the factory started to have someone who could communicate in English. The factory price is way lower (about 30%). Therefore I made a switch. I know that the factory makes quality product because they’re been manufacturing my product for years. It’s just this new salesperson who is terrible; lies after lies. She admitted that I was her first non-Chinese client. So I got to experience the $hitty way this Chinese do business My hope is that Alibaba would value their customers like Amazon values their buyers and rule in my favor.
