Super excited to be here! Iām Tyler Jackson, and I work at Walmart.com. My job is to help third-party sellers get set up on the Walmart Marketplace with as little hassle as possible.
What I Do:
Onboarding Help: Iām here to remove roadblocks to joining the Walmart Marketplace, making your onboarding process a breeze.
Account Support: Once youāre live, I will be your dedicated support partner and will make sure you have everything you need to succeed.
Whether youāre new to e-com or a pro, Iām here to help you crush it on Walmart! Feel free to hit me up with any questions.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I really donāt know how I came across sellersasksellers but Iām glad I did. I was expecting a bit more shade thrown at Walmart if Iām being honest. Seriously, Iām happy to help anyone who is interested or who has questions about our Marketplace.
Weāve got plenty of notes if you want a list of things that are wrong with Walmartās platform, but we donāt have any problem with people genuinely interested in helping sellers. Thatās what we are here for.
Awhile ago (maybe a few years) there was a small push for Handmade vendors and we were given an exemption to not needing a upc. However I never could get the exemption to work even using a spreadsheet to upload items. The few times I enquired about it I was told that I would have to have a specialist take my spreadsheet from Etsy to upload everything for me, which I wasnāt thrilled with the idea because I like to do things slow and steady and one at a time while having complete control.
I havenāt tried in awhile, but I am just wondering if there has been any progress made in that direction for a handmade seller to just be able to list items one at a time on the website without the use of a specialist or spreadsheet?
Iāll throw a little because that is one of my finer qualities.
Iām a bit tired, frustrated, and, irritated by receiving email āinvitationsā from Walmart to join after having been told multiple times that I am NOT able to because I do not have an EIN.
I am a sole member LLC and am legally permitted to use my SS# (that is āSocial Security Numberā just so there is no possible confusion - ). And, YES, I know that is not a good idea, but at this stage (and age) Iām not going to change!
I have had your contact people tell me several times it should not be a problem and I have had to āeducateā them that they can try but they will fail to make it work.
How about you use some of your computer power to scrub your data base and REMOVE the emails of people that you have previously rejected for this reason so we donāt get what is now SPAM.
Personally, Amazon needs some real competition so that they are forced to make a lot of changes, so good luck!
Unfortunately, you still have to use the bulk upload spreadsheet for UPC exempted items. As a workaround, you could add the minimum required information to the spreadsheet, upload, and then make future edits directly in Seller Center. Not sure if this method would work but may be a workaround worth trying.
Heard @dwat0870. Being a sole member LLC is not a problem for joining Walmart, however, we do not accept SSNās for registering on the Marketplace. A SMLLC is allowed to simply use their SSN BUT they are able to apply for an EIN by filing form SS-4 with the IRS (which is free to do). If you ever want to join, getting that EIN will be your best bet.
Yeahā¦Iām sure this can be annoying. Youād think weād have a better solution for this one. No computer power at this time but happy to use my own manpower to remove you from outreach. Let me know!
