Help - Cancelled FBA shipment already handed to UPS

Bonehead move.
My guy Shipped yesterday, and we had another shipment today.

Since it was within 24 hours yesterdays shipment, it was still in the queue, and available to cancel (24 hours).

But since we never ship 2 days in a row, it was odd to him that an order was in the queue, but since I made a few “fake” shipments to test just how the placement fees were to be charged, how many boxes, how many pieces per SKU, I had many "open’ orders, and that is where the deletion CONFUSION occurred.

Any HELP.

  1. Do nothing? And Amazon will process?
  2. Recreate the shipment and somehow have them matched.

Must have happened a million times before? But what is solution?

You printed the UPS labels and then cancelled the shipment? UPS didn’t scan the boxes and notice the labels were invalid?

Not sure how this will move through the UPS system without a valid label. If it does make it to FBA, it’s going in the mystery pile for them to go through when they have time.

If your product has your FNSKU labels on it, you’ve got a chance of Amazon bringing it in.

I made this mistake a few years ago and was able to get seller support to reactivate the shipment. Something tells me they won’t do this anymore but could try that too.

Thanks for the note.
.
We printed and shipped the order yesterday at 2pm.
Today it was voided at 10am
.
yes on the FNSKU

Created a case and see if you can get that plan opened up. That’s your best shot of things moving normal.

Well, I guess I will be the current guinea pig on this.

Called and got the same answer - coin flip.
.
I had to ship out east so it will be at least 7-10 days before I MAY KNOW
what will be done.
.
Will report back

Well the good thing about this is I don’t think this is a unique type of problem. People canceling a shipment after it was sent probably is a frequent enough problem for Amazon to have a SOP on how to handle it.

Hopefully you just get a violation for incorrectly canceling a shipment (which you can just acknowledge, and it shouldn’t cause any further issues) and they receive everything fine

This should process as normal. I would not loose sleep over it honestly.

Normally, if the shipment is already in transit when you cancel it, Amazon will still receive it as if it hadn’t been cancelled, so you should be all right. They might hit you with a violation, but it wouldn’t be one a very serious one (small ding to your shipment performance). Also, you may encounter problems when trying to reconcile the shipment if it’s not received in full. Anyway, this does happen from time to time - happened to us a couple of weeks ago and shipment was still received correctly,

@Chimanimani what happened with your cancelled shipments? Were they checked in?

I sent 5 shipments yesterday and just today see that they are all cancelled. I was trying to delete old workflows and must have somehow accidentally cancelled the workflow I had already handed off to UPS. They are all enroute to their destination FCs. These are all handmade items; I feel sick.

Wow, 7 months ago. Better late than never.

On the Shipping Queue Screen, here is what it looks like today (Note 800 and 154)

On the Shipping Summary Screen -

Track Shipment it shows as DELIVERED.
with tracking, fees, units all as they should be.

Contents - All listed as they should be, But
STATUS - says “Receiving”
UNITS EXPECTED - says 0
UNITS LOCATED - varies for me as what it should be.

Problems - State “No defects to resolve”

In summary. Once cancelled, Tracking for me was updated with detail, to “delivered”.
(now that it has been over 3 months the detail is gone)
But I shipped it on April 11, received on April 17.
At that time I downloaded the receipts report, and all 834 reported as received on April 18th

But it took at least 6 weeks or more to hit my inventory in FBA. Sorry this I do not remember exactly.

Since, Status always remained in “Receiving”, and the Units Located changed per what the backend reported.

Also, I have had no ability to contest any item over or unders.

I had 834 Units shipped (on that one order) The Summary Page says 800 received, but the contents Page show 816 with 2 overs so 818 received.

So - for you - I suggest you resend as much, as soon as possible more, because of the delay not so in receipt, but distribution to Inventory.

You might open a case, and report the accidental cancel, but I suspect that if your account is current, then they ASSUME it was a mistake, and process. BUT WITH A DELAY.

If you can resend (Handmade - ouch) , then the mistake is not terribly bad (in comparison to what it could be)

@Chimanimani Thank you for all those details. I am a bit relieved to hear that most units were eventually made available.

I spent an hour on chat with seller support, being passed on to somebody else 3 times. The last one ended chat unexpectedly, but I had another message 3 hours later in my case log. They understand what the issue is and that I want these shipments changed from cancelled to active (or in-transit or whatever). This last guy wants tracking links showing it is moving. I’ll give him all that and see what they say next.

I just can’t believe I did that–cancelled the workflow. I had started several workflows trying to see if one box vs. 5 was the way to go. I thought I was deleting the unused workflow. There’s no way I’ll be able to get that many units made again and re-sent in time for Christmas sales. But I will begin remaking them to switch over to FBM as needed.

I MADE MY MISTAKE back in April - Trying to figure out the New Placement fee. I had a dozen of shipments made in all conceivable ways to figure out the 5 box thing (and for me the 50 SKU limit thing).

Then like you, I wanted to clean up, and started deleting. OUCHY.

Don’t think “all or nothing”. Send in a quarter, or whatever you can in a week or so.

I fear your whole shipment will not be available for Christmas.

AND you report back - as well, when all is history…

This morning I am relieved and happy to find 2/5 shipments have been received with correct amounts of each SKU (so far at least). And the units at FTW1 are already available inventory!
