The brand has reached out to me on Friday and basically said they are swamped (tis the season for them) but they want to get their other products up on Amazon’s website (there is currently only one title so far). They have asked if I can assist them creating all the new listings.
From the information @oneida_books provided, it seems to me that they would want to have my added to their registry as a Reseller on their brand registry.
Is this the correct way to add me to their brand and allow me to create new listings under their brand?
Great question. @oneida_books has likely been tied up with the tornadoes that struck his hometown and possibly his summertime side gig, but maybe another Seller with BR can advise you. ETA: Maybe @Dogtamer or @Image ?
If they just want you to create the listings, then being added as an Admin to their Brand Registry would be the way. They could do this and have them add as a Reseller (if you will also be selling their items).
To add an administrator to an Amazon Brand Registry account, you’ll need to invite a new user and assign them the “Administrator” role. Here’s how:
Log in to your Brand Registry account: Go to Amazon Brand Registry and sign in.
Navigate to User Permissions: Click on “Settings” and then “User Permissions”.
Invite a user: Click “Invite a user to your brand”.
Enter user details: Enter the email address of the new user (this must be an existing Amazon account email).
Select brand and marketplace: Choose the brand and marketplace for which you’re adding the user.
Choose the role: Select the “Administrator” role.
Send the invitation: Click “Send Invitation”.
The new user will receive an email with instructions on how to accept the invitation and gain access to your Brand Registry account as an administrator.
I second that; I was digging out that SHC (“Seller Help Content”) page Glenn linked in that post when you beat me to it.
I would still defer to Rob’s vastly-greater experience with this subject, but I do believe that this functionality - rather than the related functionalities, on the enforcement side, embodied in the SHC’s Brand Registry protection roles (link) - is most-likely to fit our friend @SoldBySelf’s situation.
I see that the SAS has in just a few hours provided great information. I think both the post that @papy found and what @Lost_My_Marbles had to say will take you down the right path.
We were a beta site for BR 1.0 and still hold those brands, we never did the reseller or added anyone (Administrator) to our brand registry. Therefore I can not provide any personal knowledge on what path to take.
