How Does One Read an FBA Inventory Summary Web Page?

I am in discussion with Amazon about the actual inventory level vs the one that they show on the FBA inventory summary page. Long story short, if I send a case of 48 units in, and they are in “Received” status in the FBA shipment detail page, I’d expect to see them in the “received” count under “Inbound” on the FBA inventory summary page, rather than still stuck in the “Shipped” status under “Inbound”.

They are claiming that this is NOT the case, but they are unable to be specific for some reason, instead spewing long-winded boilerplate paragraphs.

So, for example, I see 114 “available”, 288 “inbound”, and 31 “reserved”, so to me this means that Amazon currently has in their possession a total of 433 units (114 + 288 + 31). If this is NOT correct, please explain how Amazon expects a seller to read this seemingly simple FBA inventory screen.

There’s a reason why Seller Support has in recent months begun to state that the Inventory Ledger Report (supposedly, from the original announcement[s], designed to be an improvement for the FBA Inbound Reconciliation process) cannot be relied upon from their end.

Just as there’s a reason why our friend @VTR created this SAS thread:

Of course it can be relied upon, it is the only authoritative report available. I quote it all the time when Amazon reports that of 96 items, only 95 have been “received”. The inventory ledger INVARIABLY shows that one of the FCs to which stock has been transferred has not received (or not YET scanned) the item sent to them, so reimbursement is paid.

You nailed it. We have 100% success rate for lost inbound using this exact same method.
