I received the same message. No way am I going to sell on the Brazil marketplace. ![]()
I got this too.
How do you say “screw off” in Portuguese?
Did you end up resolving this? Or did you just not bother to do anything more with verifying with Brazil?
I assume a lot of sellers are getting this for Brazil over the last day or so…we put our store on vacation in Brazil a long time ago as recommended and have never listed anything there.
Typical trash from Amazon on a holiday or weekend or whatever…
I just logged in and noticed it said one of our stores was deactivated and it’s the Brazil one. We received no actual email from Amazon ever notifying us of the Brazil one being deactivated. It also had the update deposit warning when I switched over to the Brazil site. That part was easily resolved as it had pre-filled our deposit info from our US account so I just pressed confirm and that’s taken care of…that warning is gone.
However, when I go to reactivate account it brings us to the account verification thing. It prefills most of the information but they are asking for a registration extract? What the hell even is that?
Why have they been so intent on pushing Brazil on everyone? It’s so weird…
Somebody proving how valuable they are to Amazon.
Same here. No going to anything about it.
I also got another late yesterday night, saying (Bold by me):
" Your Amazon.ca seller account has been deactivated due to missing account information required by Canadian law. Since your account is inactive, you can provide this information when you’re ready to resume selling or take no action if you don’t plan to sell on Amazon.ca. This action doesn’t affect your ability to sell on other Amazon stores."
So, it sound like we don’t have to anything if we don’t plan to sell on those other markets and that’s not going to effect our Amazon store in US.
All my other 3 stores were all on permanent vacation setting, don’t want to sell there, so I’m not going to do anything in those stores.
Yup, go these too, and given what happened to TT, not touching a thing. All have been on vacation mode for years, and will stay that way.
And my Brazil email was also in Portuguese.
And now we got the Canadian deactivated account one …
All we can say is Mexico is really slacking on this one.
It is interesting that Amazon won’t let us delete the market places that we don’t want to use but will deactivate (or threaten to deactivate) those marketplaces in our accounts because we haven’t provided info to accounts that we don’t need or want to use.
Has anyone who was deactivated by Brazil actually gotten a deactivation email from them? I want to know if it also says that you need not do anything if you don’t intend to sell in Brazil and that it won’t affect your other accounts.
It’ll be interesting to see whether or not Amazon.com.mx sends these same notifications.
I suspect that, due to the peculiar nature of that Marketplace - it doesn’t support the Individual Selling Plan, only the Professional, which is why when folks downgrade to Individual, they typically find that Mexico has been entirely removed as an option from the ‘Marketplace Switcher’ - that such notices won’t be forthcoming.
Neither of our SoA Accounts - which have always been Pro, & have never been downgraded to Individual - are of the ‘NAmU’ (“North American Unified” in older, pre-Brazilian Marketplace ‘Amazonese’ parlance) variety, so I presumably won’t see such a notification…
Still, this is Amazon, where the most outlandish occurrences are all-too often par for the course…
I’d like to know how many orders from .com go to Brazil daily. Also how many end up INR. Same with Mexico.
I can not say as it relates to Amazon however, for our own brand websites 70% came up INR.
Theft and corruption is rampant. This added to the fact that they are attracted to the technology in one of our brands caused the problem.
We shut them down years ago before AZ came out with the “feature” like it or not to sell in Brazil.
We went on vacation mode in Canada about the time of covid, Canada Post could not deliver on time. To many INR’s.
Today it is rampant strikes to our Canadian neighbors. I do not need to deal with it.
I also got both of these emails for Brazil and Canada. I never enrolled in Brazil, did Amazon try to auto-enroll me?
Mine is older, though not as old as yours probably. They did automatically change it to North American Unified shortly after that became a thing. I wonder if a bot will catch up to yours someday and do the same thing?
I did use to sell on CA, sales were not worth the cross-border problems and UPS CA import fees so I just zeroed out quantities and closed the listings.
The CA email says this:
Will this affect my selling accounts in other Amazon stores?
Your Amazon.ca seller account will remain deactivated until verification is completed. This does not affect your ability to sell on other Amazon stores.
Let’s hope that is true, and also applies to the emailed Brazil threat.
Anyone else here dealt with this? What is accepted as a registration extract from the US on the Canada, UK, Brazil Amazon sites…?
This gives some info on it and has some additional links …
The problem is that the US doesn’t have anything called a registration extract. That site looks sketchy…..
Agree … but was trying to give an idea of what “they” are looking for as far as document information.
Reminds us of UPC codes … a lot of people offering but only one is accepted / valid (GS1) and that one (if it exists) isn’t very visible if it does exist.
Appreciate it! Yeah, I think I’m going to try a 147C document from the IRS and see if that works….
I also received this (on NYE
) and plan to continue to do absolutely nothing since I have never sold on .ca and have no plans to do so.
Haha Amazon, you thought you could creep up on a holiday to alarm me, but I was already planning to do nothing ![]()
Here in Canada there is also no such document. It took me nine weeks of stress and time wasting to figure out something to get my Canadian account reactivated.
Any progress for you?
