Years ago, Amazon automatically enrolled me to Brazil market. I’ve never done anything to the Brazil store. I believe I’ve seen one or two sales since the auto enrollment. Today my US account showed that the Brazil store is at risk of being suspended (yeah the dreaded S word ) unless I submit the documents required by Brazilian government and update the deposit method. See the screenshot below
Frankly I have no interest in selling in Brazil and would like to completely eliminate it from my account. This is the reduce the potential risks of affecting my US account. How to do this properly? Have you done this in the past? Please share your experiences and thoughts. Thank you.
You can’t eliminate it, you should have put it on vacation mode and eliminated any inventory from that market. It is part of the unified account (US, CA, MX and Brazil).
These are 2 different things. Vacation mode is never too late, and prevents and FBM offers from being listed there. This does not prevent SKUs from being listed there. For that, you need to make sure your Build International Listings settings are off.
Additionally, there is the FBA Remote Fulfillment program, where you send stuff to FBA in your home country (US, Canada, etc) and Amazon sells those items as FBA in other countries, but they handle things like customs. This setting needs to be deactivated separately.
None of this is related to the requirement to have a valid payment method on file. I don’t sell in Mexico and will never sell in Mexico, but I still have to keep a valid payment method on file on the .mx marketplace.
Thanks for this. The required payment method was taken care of quickly I’ll turn on the vacation mode, disable Build International Listing and deactivate the FBA Remote Fulfillment program as you suggested.
As @Tvoi suggested, do all of these things might not make the risk go away. To be on the safe side, I should submit documents that the Brazil system wanted. They wanted “statute document” (see their explanation below) that was issued by a government:
I’ll submit the Articles of Organization and Certificate of Good Standing (issued by government). My state doesn’t have documents that show the percentage of ownership. So I’ll draft a letter and submit that. Hopefully it works.
Thank you for this reply. Honestly it made feel more relieve. I’m always paranoid when it comes to Amazon linking account problems between different markets. I just submitted all doc required to the Brazil market. Once it’s approved (fingers cross), I’ll do the 3 things that that @HobbesIsMyTiger suggested and hopefully Brazil would be gone from my life.
You were totally correct! Today my Brazil store was deactivated (even after I tried to submit all documents that they wanted a few times), but my US store is still green
