How to scan barcode onto packing slip

I want to scan my FNSKU barcode and have it print the same barcode onto my packing slip. I want the numbers and the barcode itself to populate. I have a barcode font that looks like it does the trick, but it won’t scan, so I think whatever extra code that’s in a barcode that makes it scan is missing. Anyone know how to get this done?

May create an image of the FNSKU barcode and have that image print on the packing slip?

I could definitely cut and paste and all that, but I want to make it easy on myself: just can and have it show up on the packing slip.

If these are your own packing slips which you create (not Amazon packing slips), you would create the image for each barcode and have the page programed with a lookup that finds the image to print based on the FNSKU number thus adding it to your packing slip.

I like that idea. Wish I knew how to do that. Maybe I’ll have to take a class at the local community college or something to improve my computer literacy.

Amazon FNSKUs need to be UCC 128 (GS1-128).

I do not know about Fnsku but when we used to create barcode labels we needed to add an asterisk before and after the code to make it scannable
Depends on the type of code (font) so it’s worth a try.
UPC-a or BC3of9 I forgot

Edit…after some googling looks like barcode type 3of9 requires asterisks

Avery Label program has a barcode generator. We can print a label with a barcode UPC-a on it or print to a piece of paper and then scan to create an image that we can place on any form (packing slip) where we want it. They can be scanned.

With that being said, we are talking about packing slips that can be sent to a customer. If this is a packing slip going with product to an Amazon warehouse, that would be something different and may have the font print requirements @Sundance is referring to.

@Amazon_Seller can you update, or clarify whether these slips were for sending to Amazon or to Buyers?

I assumed they were to buyers since they were trying to put them on packing slips.

We put all order numbers on our packing slips with ShipStation, it makes our process nearly idiot proof.

We have looked at integrating our UPC’s for product management, though the need has not stimulated the effort to do so.

For FNSKU’s we are forced to use them in some trade dress, we save them out as PDF. We then convert to EPS and import that with Illustrator to create the trade dress.

The packing slip to the warehouse. I want them to be able to scan the sheet if they want. I read once in the OSFE that someone did that and the issues with check-in stopped.

Ah ha.

So @Sundance 's post might be especially helpful:
