If you get an email that supposedly comes from Amazon and says that line about “We were unable to verify the charge method” and need to update credit card etc, do NOT click on anything in the email. There is a recent outbreak of scammers who have copied the email message and are faking these emails to get sellers to give them credit card info.
If you get that email, go to the request disbursement page, and do the request disbursement. (if you DON’T have a warning on seller central AND are able to request a disbursement, then obviously there is no issue with your card on file.)
https://sellercentral.amazon.com/payments/disburse/details?ref_=xx_paynow_butn_dash&accountType=PAYABLE
I recommend bookmarking that page for easy access. The button to get to that page greys out if you are not able to request a disbursement, but if you have a direct link, you can bypass the greyed out block. The page will tell you WHY you cannot request a disbursement, like zero balance or already did disbursement in less than 24 hours and need to wait XX hrs XX min.
The above link is for USA only. The other country request disbursement pages will have the slightly different endings, .ca, .br, .mx, etc, so you can bookmark those country’s request disbursement pages IF you do business with them. I don’t.
So, IF you get that email, AND it is a scam, please forward that email to amazon investigations so they can investigate it or do whatever they (eventually) do. and add this to your email contacts so you can easily forward all scam emails.

I got another one of those faked emails just now, did all that above, then it occurred to me to check and see if anyone here had written a tutorial on this subject, but did not see one in search.
