If you ship using "buy shipping' prepare for the next requirement.

I’m glad I do NOT use Amazon "buy shipping’. I can see this becoming a “new, improved” requirement for Amazon as a way to take more control of sellers.

The Supply Chain Dive newsletter had this story today about the USPS and " Next Day Priority" shipping starting this year.

I simply can NOT imagine Amazon not adding it to the required shipping methods for packages that THEY determine will not arrive in time.

Good luck folks, you’re probably going to need it!

The agency touted Next Day Priority’s competitive rates as being tailored to businesses of all sizes. It’s not the only option USPS is highlighting as cost-effective. The agency said its Ground Advantage service will be optimized further in 2025 “to make shipping seamless, cost-effective, and faster than ever.”

I guess also the GA glow ups are good news, right? :crossed_fingers::grimacing:

Here’s the press release from USPS:

So, they are tweaking/rebranding Connect Local. When we signed up for Connect Local we were told that we needed at least 50 packages if we were going to take them to the regional sort facility. And that they could be up to 20# (same as Ground Advantage).

I think it also sounds like we’ll have to get the packages to the regional hub. Definately not what I’d like to do – even though it’s “close” (like 15 miles away).

Ours is about 100 miles away … not going to drive a round trip of 3 1/2 hours …

Next Day Priority went away several years back for rural areas. Next Day Priority is 2 day delivery 99% of the time for us. Priority Mail use to be 2 to 3 day delivery and now it runs the same as USPS Ground Advantage at 3 to 5 days.

As my wife says …
They can spit in one hand and wish in the other … and then find out which one fills up quicker.

It this going to be the contract equivalent of Priority Express?

With a price cut?

Does not appear that it will apply to ALL rural areas. Not all rural areas had Priority Mail take three days either.

Cannot say I am very concerned about the recent changes. They appear to be aimed at making the post office stronger. Unfortunately, they cannot make these things happen without a cooperative work force, there is not a uniform corporate culture at USPS,
