IMPORTANT—Upcoming change to performance standards Walmart

Hello,

We are writing to inform you of an upcoming change to On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance standards for seller-fulfilled orders.

Beginning June 26, you will be responsible for carrier delays on past and future orders, in addition to the current performance factors. Please note that you will not be held accountable for weather-related delays.

The primary reason for this change is to ensure we provide the best service possible to your customers. To offer more flexibility as you work to maintain this high standard, we are updating the required OTD standard from >95% to >90%.

To ensure that your OTD rate stays at an acceptable level, we recommend taking the following actions to help improve delivery reliability and minimize delays:

  • Regularly review your performance standards and carrier performance metrics.
  • Work closely with your shipping partners to address delays or issues.
  • Evaluate alternative carrier options if you notice recurring problems with specific partners.

In addition, Walmart shipping programs help prevent your OTD rate from being impacted by carrier delays outside of your control. Try using:

Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Sincerely,
The Walmart Performance Standards team

This starts tomorrow.

The part about this that bothers me most is making the metrics damage retroactive. At least they offer protections for using their shipping (SWW), similar to Amazon’s Buy Shipping.

I am glad I started using Simplified Shipping Settings a little while ago.
I forgot the reason why I started testing the feature.

Nobody at Walmart can explain messages like this from WFS buyers, via support escalation.

Apparently some at Walmart’s customer care team think sellers can cancel WFS orders. We have gotten at least 50 of these over the last 2 years. How do I ding Walmart’s metrics?

I have a templated response which basically reads - not sure why this was sent to us but we can’t cancel your order even if we wanted to…

…but this part might cover those a bit?

Maybe? :grimacing:

I don’t care if they drop the metric to 20%. Changing a metric retroactively is a %$@& move.

I treat them like the dross that comes through the Amazon messaging system. They send me stuff about FBA orders too.

I don’t think we have ever gotten a message like this for an FBA order. Guess the bot broke for you.

Wouldn’t be the first time
