Ain’t this some ish… The fine was only $12.41 but I guess we need to take pictures of our guys holding a tape measure and the scale readout, with the pallet label or BOL in the background.
We have shipped probably 300-400 pallets to FBA and never had this happen before. My guess is CTI is trying to make more $ because there is no way we were off in our weight but have no way to prove that.
CTI was the only option on the day this shipment was set up - even waiting further out for pickup. We’ve never had an issue with CTI, although I know others have. Not using them anymore. If they come up as the only option, I’ll just cancel and wait.
Never had an inaccurate report of weight or dims before today. We almost exclusively use Amazon Freight, and wait for it if it’s not available quickly. It’s always 2X faster to be checked in so the wait is worth the no wait and it’s 30-40% cheaper.
This was going to be my suggestion. There’s no way that you’ve shipped hundreds of error-free shipments exactly like this but suddenly one is wrong, and wrong “enough” to warrant a fine.
I wouldn’t even know how to. There’s always been a wall up when it comes to partnered carriers, so everything goes through Amazon.
$12 isn’t worth my time but I’ve broached the subject with our SAS manager. It’s a topic for our next call on the agenda because this is a new one for us.
More concerned about our acceptable problem rate (APR), than the $.
This “Problem” will almost be gone off our record by the time we ship to Amazon again (Mid Jan 2026). We loaded up for Q4 in Sept.
We are hit with 2 adjustments for weight and the amounts are hundreds of dollars each.
2 different carriers. Same 5 split shipment.
I won’t have time to look into ours until mid next week.
I have not acknowledged the fault yet, and we were still able to make and ship 2 more 5 split shipments. I will probably dispute somehow, but I have not dealt with this issue in the past.
Who knows, you may be right… Again - 12 bucks - who cares. And I suppose it’s possible that we screwed up. But if 1 part of shipment can take our APR from 0 to .89, it wouldn’t take too much BS to raise us over the 5% limit.
I’ve tried disputing these to no effect. I have no clue what to submit. a BOL, amazon’s own weight and class application viz a viz amazon templates and shipment plans. So a few thousand dollars later (this is a repeat issue with every carrier), just decided to use a 3PL before I transition to AWD. Had a meeting with AGL rep and got them to talk about AWD and they discussed some of the issues but said in their experience there is a lot of anecdotal issues but nothing that doesn’t eventually resolve - the greyed out issues at WC FC’s are for domestic shipments and not AGL shipments - because of of the 55 day lead time - eventually, space opens up and they make their promised lead times. All up in the air right now but any remedial pathways - I’m all eyes.
