INFORM Consumer Act bank account verification gives me a loop

Hi,
I just started the 10 day for INFORM Consumer Act recertification. Everything (identity, biz address, phone number) went smoothly except Bank Account. It showed “Unable to verify” in red. I’ve never changed it. The last fund transfer just happened successfully last week. I guess the INFORM Consumer Act needs to verify everything again. So, I went through the process. I chose “Re-enter bank account information” (see the screenshot Page 1). It didn’t give me a page to enter banking information. Instead it showed “Unable to verify” in red (see the screenshot Page 2). I clicked the reason link. It told me to verify again. Hence I went to Deposit Method page (see the screenshot Page 3) and clicked Retry. It brought me back to the screenshot Page 1. :frowning: I’m stuck in the loop. How to get out of this loop?

In screenshot Page 1, there is another option “Upload a bank statement”. I prefer not to use this option because the statement doesn’t show the account number which I believe they would need to see. The first option “Re-enter bank account information” would work better if I could get out of the loop. Please help. Thanks.

Check CA, MX and BR to see if one of those marketplaces is holding it up.

Do you mean try to verify bank account that links to CA, MX, and BR even though I haven’t sold in these markets for years?

Unfortunately, Amazon’s SIV (‘Amazonese’ for “Seller Identity Verification”) & ‘Related Accounts’ policies often DO force sellers to ensure that Amazon’s automated mechanisms can verify Deposit Method Manager & Charge Method Manager data in Marketplaces that have NEVER been used, and/or have been in Vacation Mode for long periods of time.

Our friend @Lost_My_Marbles’ advice to use the ‘Marketplace Switcher’ to see if the “At risk” banner/flag appears in another Global/Region Marketplace is sound (which I believe has pretty-much been the general consensus of the seasoned savvy forum vets ever since I first saw folks like our friends @oneida_books & @mav-dak touch on the subject, many years ago), if for no other reason than the simple facts that:

  1. Amazon’s TPTB (“The Powers That Be”) want it to be a Self-Service platform, for a variety of reasons - not the least of which is decreasing Support-infrastructure expenditures, and thereby affording an opportunity to prop-up the bottom line

  2. TPTB feverishly-fervent embrace of Point 1’s underpinning explanation - reducing Amazon’s short-term costs, all else be damned - has combined w/ its ‘One Size Fits All’ corporate philosophy to produce poorly-parameterized policing/gatekeeping Amabots for a score of years or more

Even-more misfortunately, there also seems to be more than a mere bit of evidence to suggest that even if a flag doesn’t previously exist for SIV/Deposit Method/Charge Method in another Marketplace causing problems w/ US IFORM Consumers Act validation, simply using the Marketplace Switcher to check for such a warning can induce the Amabot(s) to produce one…

There’s more than a singular reason why we’ve so-long restricted our employees from using the Marketplace Switcher (link, 112923 SAS post) at all, but the possibility of producing such a supposed violation - and the concurrent risk of further extending our exposure to yet-more Amabot-Gone-Rogue behavior - is one my primary considerations in insisting on that as corporate policy.

With that last caveat in mind, and despite my general reluctance to advise opening a Seller Support/Selling Partner Support/“SeSu” case (especially-so in these AI-driven days), had not our latest INFORM verifications - completed earlier this month for both of our SoA Accounts - sailed through as smoothly they did, I’d probably have been inclined to @ least see if I could get SeSu (or the AHT/“Account Health Team”) to tell me if a Related Account flag was showing on their Help Desk information before resorting to the Marketplace Switcher path.

We had to verify account in CA and provide a credit card in BR to eliminate our critical.
We only sell in the US.

It worked! After I clicked “Verify” for the BR account, I could change the default deposit account to the BR verified bank account. Now the “Bank Account” has green check  I don’t really want to use this account to receive fund. Should I try to add the problematic one back? Or would you suggest waiting until Amazon gives ok to my seller account on the INFORM Consumer Act requirements first? I’m also afraid that changing default deposit account too many times could trigger the Amazon bot security and mistakenly pause my selling account.

I just realized that “Identity” is the only category that still doesn’t have the green check. When I clicked that black clock icon, it showed the message saying that they’re checking (see screenshot below). Do I just wait?

Dogtamer, thank you for the long explanation for the reasons that @Lost_My_Marbles reply. I appreciate it  It worked (Bank account was verified after I verified the BR bank account and switched it to the default bank account). See the screenshot my reply to @Lost_My_Marbles

If CA, MX and BR are good to go and this is for the US marketplace, then yes … just wait.

Any time you change it … it will cause Amazon to verify the new entry and trigger the whole process again. Changing back to the problematic one will just recreate the problem. If you don’t sell in CA, MX and BR, then you should be okay. We have been since having to do it.
