Inventory Detail (by location)

OK, I must have dementia. Someone please send me a link to the report that shows inventory by DC / FC. I can’t find it…

Dealing with another double receipt at FBA and they are telling me we shipped more than 2X what we said. We know what we shipped. We know what we made… We know that the amount they say we shipped would have been 3 pallets, not the single pallet Amazon picked up and processed…

These normally resolve themselves but we could use the room that this is taking up in our capacity now that Dec has opened up a bit. This is also a 2-pack item so always concerned that they broke up the 2-packs, even though they have their own FNSKU on the back of the shrink and do not separate big red sticker on the front.

Thanks

If this happened I think you would get an unplanned prep violation since your individual units are not barcoded correctly for what was supposed to be shipped in.

Steve, I suspect that you’re looking for the Inventory Ledger Report (link, GUI, Amazon Fulfillment Reports Dashboard).

Yea, that’s where I was but it didn’t seem to generate what I was looking for…

What I am looking for is a list for a specific ASIN that shows all the inventory and where it is.

How do I do that again??? :man_facepalming:

Thanks so much
Steve

Yea / well - we sell the single too and it has a barcode on it that references the single ASIN.

I know Amazon effed this up. The “PRIME ELIGIBLE” inventory matches what we shipped, not what they say they got.

This has happened before and it resolved itself eventually.

I just don’t want to wait. Just need the evidence for the SAS escalation to have it handled.

There’s also the 4X storage fee this time of year I’d rather not gift to Amazon for the holidays.

Did you pull the Monthly report or the daily?
Monthly would provide the FC location, I think.

Don’t remember. haha.

Dealing with some personal issues so appreciate the correct path.

I’ve run this before but for some reason I’m forgetting the process

Thanks

Are you charged storage while stuff is still tentatively being received? Maybe this double booking and then eventual auto correction is intentional.

If Amazon thinks something is on hand, then sure the seller gets charged.

This isn’t a money grab, it just plain stupidity / incompetence.

I can see where the phantom inventory is now thanks to the report… SAT3

You might be aware of this but apparently FBA is refusing to receive anything between Dec 15 to Dec 31.

We sent out a shipment today and were shocked to see that when selecting the delivery window, Dec 15 ~ Dec 31 are greyed out with a message below stating “Due to high demand and limited appointments, December 15 to December 31 are currently unavailable to receive your products.”

Went to NFSE to see if anyone commented on this and see that Topher_Amazon was replying to multiple sellers today “High demand has resulted in limited appointment availability for receiving shipments at our U.S. fulfillment centers in December. As a result, delivery windows are unavailable between December 15 and 31, but will resume on January 1. Appointments have been updated to reflect current availability, so we recommend adjusting your shipping plans accordingly.”

Of course we expected that receiving in Dec would be slow and shipments would be left unattended in the parking lot but don’t recall them ever refusing to accept appointments for half a month in our 10 years of selling. Did I miss an announcement?

We know all the recommended deadlines for sending in shipments and have complied with so. Although BF was disastrous but CM was actually far better than we thought, so we really needed to replenish some ASINs in December…

I literally just finished creating 4 shipment plans for 4 listings with 12-16 as the ship date.

You may want to try again. What you experienced happens sometimes but only during the heat of the day…

We always create our shipments in the middle of the night. The whole process is lightning fast when nobody is using it.

The ship date was not greyed out. I was talking about the 14-day delivery window.

Now that I think about it, are you using Amazon-partnered carrier (where you don’t need to select the delivery window)?
We don’t, so maybe it is only affecting shipments sent by Non-Amazon-Partnered carriers…? :face_with_monocle:

Is it just me or does it seem anti-competitive that they are only willing to receive shipments that are sent with their partnered service…
And why am I not surprised at all…

It’s not just you. But it would be very interesting because Topher made it sound like it was a blanket black out.

No matter what, it is a bit bonkers to say on December 11 that no appointments will be accepted December 15-31.

I’m wondering if this year’s compressed shopping window between Thanksgiving and Christmas is affecting warehouse staffing and bandwidth. And if so, hopefully Amazon can plan better for 2025 (same issue).

Ahhhh, I misread what you wrote last night.

The answer to this is simple. You’re right, it does have to do with partner / non-partner carrier.

The reason is Amazon controls their partners (UPS / LTL). They tell them when goods can come in and schedule it based on resources.

We are fully aware that our SPD UPS shipments we created are going to sit at a UPS hub for some period of time before they are allowed in. We are just getting in line intentionally to ensure our listings are stocked to the level they need to be to get same day / next day Prime delivery. It’s the only way to win in our super-saturated category.

I second this entire assertion.

I also got that impression when he said “delivery windows are unavailable” instead of “delivery windows for non-Amazon-partnered carriers are unavailable between December 15 and 31” as I imagine normal Amazon behavior would be pushing sellers to use their partnered carrier or AWD.

That is possible. I think the fact that they drastically cut everybody’s capacity limit in November also added to the problem. (Ours was 1/3 of October…)
Naturally ppl are going to send in just enough stock to cover the expected sales and replenish after in order to minimize storage fees, which might have led to a spike in inbound shipments since the start of December, and then they got overwhelmed. :woman_facepalming:

Thanks for the confirmation. Good to know and also not good to know. :woman_facepalming:

What triggers my little brain is that Amazon control the timing of all shipments whether the carrier is partnered or not.
Even with non-partnered carriers, first we have to specify a 7or14-day delivery window in the shipping plan according to the estimated delivery date from the carrier, then the carrier has to make an appointment with Amazon before actually delivering the shipment within that time frame.
Just like partnered carriers, Amazon is in sole control of when the shipment can come in. We have had DHL holding the shipment for a week before being allowed in. (And the funny part is if Amazon instructs the carrier to deliver before or after the delivery window specified in the shipping plan, we get a warning from Amazon. Surprise! :upside_down_face:)

Same…
Just trying to get in line but instead got the “DON’T YOU DARE TO EVEN LINE UP HERE” sign :woman_facepalming:
Now they are basically forcing a lot of ppl to send in a lot of inventory at the same time and that’s not gonna end well…
