My thoughts the past several days has jumped to Cyber Attack frequently. All have been major sites and all have been of broad effects. Many have related to logging in and multifactor authentication.

You know how Amazon takes a single click and turns it into multiple clicks on Seller Central? It looks like Amazon is doing it to the buyer side now.
Amazon must have fired the ākeep it simple stupidā employee and trained a program bot to be a āhappy clickerā.

I am torn 50/50 between cyber attack and gross negligence/incompetence as I have seen the damage done by one spreadsheet.

Now that the situation seems to have resolved, weāve received a final statement from an Amazon spokesperson about the outage that was:
"Weāre sorry that some customers may have temporarily experienced issues while shopping. We have resolved the issue, which was related to a software code deployment, and website and app are now running smoothly.ā

Do we know how long it was out? I only became aware because of this thread and that too near when I posted upthread.

On the NSFE, when the first posts were made saying that it was working again (which seemed to be not universally true), the early posts about it being down were showing as 3 hours old. Of course, that could be anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hours, but I think 3+ hours is a good estimate.

We get orders every 2 mins or less during deals. Hereās what I can tell you in terms of when it was out bc it seems like it was multiple waves of incompetence.
Everything was going great / normal. We got an order at 2:46 EST. Next one was 3:05 and then got one at 4:16, then 4:53. Next order was 5:03 and then things returned to normal.
Who the ā ā ā ā releases new code in the afternoon? This is the kind of thing to be done at 3AM. Really basic stuff. Hopefully the people responsible find their way out the door in the next round of layoffs.

But how? Are you saying that you saw listings acting normally from competitors? I wasnāt near my computer when this was going on. Saw the sales dip but just figured it was the normal reporting glitch, not that the actual site was downā¦ Because. Thatās INSANEā¦
We are not having a great 2026. Down for the first time since we started selling. Was making some progress and today would have helped a lot in the rank dept. Would have been nice for Amazon to extend deals for those affected for the time they were down but of course the master of all data probably doesnāt have a mechanism to do that bc Amazon isnāt as great as they think they are.

The Item Length and Chain Length are not the same size ā¦ Chain Length is variable but never longer than 6 inch.
Metal Stamp is not 8 inch.
Where did they come up with this stuff? ā¦ Not part of the info we provided.

They pull it out of the same orifice they get their other brilliant ideas from.
I have lots of items that weigh one ounce and Amazon has them at a pound or more.
Part of it is from allowing sellers (not the real brand owners) to set up ASINs for a couple decades. Part of it is from when Brands started creating ASINs but the staff at the brands was just as clueless as so many rookie sellers on the site.
And, part is just Amazon being Amazonā¦

No. Iām saying that within 4 days my sub ranking has been shifting 3 spaces but spend is roughly the same and then today happened. Which doesnāt help but it wasnāt from today alone.

Something still aināt right with the site. Its requiring my usual relog with a one time code sent to my phone, except they arenāt sending anything to my phone. At all. Iām worried if I keep asking to resend it my account will be frozen or suspended, because this is my designated printing computer they wonāt give access to.
