Is anyone here getting restricted product issues with items being classified as plant seeds tonight?

It’s because it’s the weekend and the mods are probably relaxing. Of course, sellers don’t get that option on that site.

I’ve been there 15 years or so and I don’t remember such a huge screwup.

I’m just going to bite my tongue in terms of saying anything beyond this.

Quite right.

However, it was minor compared to this. Further, many of the sellers complaining were “caught” legitimately – selling seeds not from USA

waterproof is now a trigger word for live plant.

A waterproof notebook
A waterproof Emergency response light
A waterproof light.

19 listings overnight. How am I gonna prove they are not plants to these idiots?

And remember it’s only 10am on a Saturday. I’d bet many people haven’t even checked or realize they are affected by this yet.

Yep, me too, 6 toys currently flagged. Crazy, and only 3 days to get it fixed!

One of the mods, Michelle , just replied on the NSFE that they’re working on it. LOL

Michelle is going around to the NSFE discussions and posting an update like this:

Any bets on how long this will take?

Wouldn’t it save Michelle, and sellers who have the issue, a lot of time to just pin this on the forum, that they are aware of it? The working on it part, meh, don’t bother. The posts are coming fast and furious.

Yep. Gift Wrap is now a plant and a seed.
Got many this morning I’m sure more are to come
I have no idea what to do with this.
Whole process here is beyond overwhelming

I am surprised to see (so far) no booksellers hit with it. I’m sure lots of them have plants and seeds in the title, and sunshine, and water, and…
Maybe this time the bots are trying to go for the not so obvious.

a year LOL

Of course this would make it easier….so why would Amazon do that?

Well these listings will automatically remove 48 hours from when they were flagged so I guess Amazon’s developers better work fast or they are going to have a large part of their catalog missing. Maybe that’s what we want to happen so Amazon starts taking notice of this stuff….

Even if you appeal the violation and it’s pending….it will still auto remove even if no one gets to your appeal before the 48 hours.

There is a sort of deep-down mandate that media is exempt from much of those bot searches. Somebody early on realized that hits would always be massive in books due to the vast numbers and the full use of all the words in the language for titles.

Occasionally a bot is programmed that ignores that deep-down mandate and then oh boy does tshtf

Having said that – knock wood

That must have been a fluke of unheard of proportions.

Knocking wood hard, but my hat keeps falling off.

Sure, assuming that Amazon would actually admit they messed up, and that sellers would actually read such a pinned post.

Oh Amazon would never admit messing up.

“We are aware of the issue” can be spun any way they want. As in “We are aware that you all have issues to fix.”

Yepper, and they’re starting to spill over into other NSFE discussions, such as this one posted to Jameson’s 26Jun`24 rah-rah ‘Engage With Amazon’ thread Prime Day is coming! How are you preparing? (link, NSFE):
