I see there are many sellers posting about this on the NSFE in the last hour who sell a variety of items that are nowhere near plant seeds (meaning sellers selling earrings, car parts, solar panels, etc)…?
Amazon is saying those listings are at risk of removal because they are live plant seeds listed outside the plant seed category…one seller said he has had thousands of these flagged tonight.
Yes, we also received this email tonight. Seems the bots are busy. Our targeted ASIN is a pet toy, but the description does include the word “seeds” so obviously that makes the item a “PLANT SEED” (Is there a sarcasm font?)
We aren’t the brand owner so can’t make any changes. Nice of Amazon to do this on a Friday night with the deadline for “fixing it” midnight Sunday night.
I received the restricted notice as well. I have a Hap Palmer Music CD that is listed as Seeds. The only thing I see wrong about it is that it is listed in the Home/Kitchen category. I have to appeal this my July 1st. I’m not exactly sure what I should say in an appeal. This is crazy!!!
None of our listings have the word seeds or anything like that in them.
Seriously, whoever put the parameters in for this bot should legit be fired given the magnitude of sellers posting (there are like 20 different sellers who have posted on that thread…at 9pm on a Friday, mind you) and how off this bot is.
I just receive this email too. It’s for a listing titled: Decorative Ceramic Tile Coaster Trivet with Colorful Art, Sunshine (which was the name of my original artwork). No seed or plant mentioned, but I guess seed/plant needs “Sunshine”.
The reason for the violation: This product has been identified as a live plant or seed product that is listed outside of the SEEDS_AND_PLANTS or PLANT_SEED categories.
Well, besides the absurdity of it, this listing has been inactive/out stock for 4 yrs now. So it really is not a concern if they want to remove it, and I actually just went ahead and deleted it myself.
But the violation is still on my Account Health, so I also submitted an appeal to tell them they made a mistake and please remove that violation from my account health. Well, we’ll see what happens next.
A small taste of our AI-controlled future where a simple misclassification in the food supply network causes millions to die of starvation. Fun times ahead!
My one listing that got caught in this mass, in the title besides the word “Sunshine” there wasn’t any words of or related to seed/plant, but in the description it might (don’t know for sure since I deleted the listing already) have described flowers as part of the design on the tile. But I have other listings also mentioned flower in description that were not caught.
So not knowing what exactly triggered the bot to my listing, I was expecting to wake up to more listings in violation. Fortunately, Account Health still only showing just “1”. Amazon is still review my appeal, according to them it could take up to 5 days.
I noticed you tagged the mods at NSFE, other seller probably did too.
I didn’t see any Mods jump in with any comments, but I didn’t read all the threads. Just wondering if anybody notice any comments there from the mods? Since this mass started late (around 7PM on west coast I think) last night and it’s Saturday today, probably no mods around on NSFE.
Are they doing this again? It is not the first time seeds and plants caused issues, though I do not remember it effecting jewelry and other categories.
Bots run wild indeed. It is unfortunate that no other online retailer has the same customer presence that Amazon has. Otherwise, I think a lot of people would head that way in a heartbeat.
As a customer I love Amazon. As a seller I despise it, despite the customer base and ease of sales it gives our company. The sheer amount of time Amazon causes us to spend on stupid bot issues is simply mind numbing.
■■■■■, whine, complain
There, I got it all out. Whew. That is a load off my shoulders.
